I wouldn't be surprised if it's sore for a few days. It sounds like you were careful and went slowly, so I highly doubt there will be any issues with keeping it in (I don't think you did any serious damage). Do a soak or two and try not to mess with it ;D.

It took me two tries to get my helix to 14g (dead stretched both). I put the jewelry in and it looked great but wouldn't stop hurting and feeling pinchy (for a few weeks). I eventually put a 16g barbell back in for a few weeks, tried the 14g again, and it's been fine ever since. So...I guess the point is that if it doesn't work ...

I was wondering the same thing...I wonder if micros might increase the longevity esp since I think the area moves too much for a bar to be successful.

Could be either (or neither). Only way to try to find out is to change something, like trying clear silicone o-rings. Or you could just avoid acrylic altogether (and use clear o-rings with other stuff) since there are much better materials out there for jewelry. I'd put some glass/titanium/stainless steel in them to let them heal, though, ...
