Mine's tha same as bluebananaeater. It's just notoriously fussy. Bumping or sleeping on it will piss it off. I usually don't do anything to it, maybe some sea salt or something, but it goes back to normal on its own.

 I got my left helix gunned at Claire's when I was 12, and I had a lot of trouble with it. It was sore and gross, and grew a big bump on the back (that went away after I put a CBR in it years later). I am one of the lucky few who has a normal gunned cartilage piercing. My friend got hers done too, and what she didn't know at the time ...
