Pretty much any SF/NF plug will work in a tongue, you just need to custom order the wearable area. surprisingly, ive never had an o-ring fall off a tongue plug(even round back plugs). If your paranoid about them falling off, you can always use one size smaller o-rings.

I havent tried kaos in my conches yet, but i have tried earskins in my nostrils, and i wouldnt recommend them for cartilage, unless the piercing is loose. The way the earskin is shaped, the diameter increases drastically towards the flares, so i would go with what kaitlin said and get some with a longer wearable area first to test the waters.

Ive seen wood plugs as small as 1mm, try contacting paul's plugs, or some other place that turns wood plugs.

1. YES(imo) 2. my tongue is 5mm and the only way people notice it is when i show them, or i yawn. 3. getting it pierced with clear glass would be your best bet. at a small gauge(18-14), clear glass would be highly unnoticeable, but not invisible.

Why not turn your own teflon plugs for initial jewelry? Do you heal well with teflon?
