Another thing i'm wondering about is the length of the jewelry and if it's too long. I got it pierced with tygon and on both ends there is an extra half inch or so. Isn't that a bit unnecessary, or is this how most are done?

Hmm... tissue usually seems to 'dissolve' in a sense but I definitely have lots of gauze. I'll start using that seeing as it is difficult sometimes to get all of the fibers off the jewelry. Thank you!!!

Seeing as my helix was just a pain in the ass, I let it heal and decided to get a vertical conch to conch industrial. I've had it for about 2.5 weeks now, however, due to the length of the jewelry i've found it almost impossible to get a cup to stay in place to do a soak. So instead of soaking my entire head and everything around me, i've just ...

I wish I would have came here when I first started. I went from, what I now realize, a 14 to 8. I was unsure of the sizing so I just guessed. It hurt reaaaallllly bad and the hole looks horrible now, in my opinion anyways. I also stretched my second lobe holes to an 8, but the correct way and it was so much better.

Thank you so much! I feel stupid for not being able to find that myself. I plan on getting some more cartilage work so i'm assuming i'll end up needing it at some point if not with this one eventually.

It sucks though because he works at three different shops. One of which is too far to drive to. I will try to find him though. About the tea tree oil though, what would be the right amount to dilute with how much of what? I'm not going to use it for this piercing anytime soon now knowing that it's too early, i'm just really curious ^_^

I would go to my piercer, but it's really hard to get in contact with him. I work from 3:30 - 12 and his shops close at 10. There is a slight possibility though that i'll be able to make it there tomorrow.

Currently I have in a 16ga stainless steal curved barbell. So is three weeks really to soon? hmm... I always thought that as long as it wasn't used as initial routine it was ok if there was a reason for it. I'm not saying you're wrong, I was just unaware of that. I was actually thinking about switching the jewelry though to a labret stud that I ...

I know this thread has pretty much died but I have a question. I just recently (like three weeks ago) got a helix piercing. It is now starting to get some hypertropic scarring. I got some tea tree oil but am wondering if it is supposed to be diluted. If it is, what am I supposed to dilute it with? Also, how much of each should I use?

I don't have that big of a collection, but here are my favorites! (grr @ not having a macro lens)
