I got my navel pierced about 3 days ago. It's still quite tender and I was just wondering if this is normal? And how long does this last?

The only other piercing I have that was like this was the inner conch. It throbbed for a week!

when i had my belly button pierced i remember it hurting for quite some time, clothes run on it and can irritate it, just be sure to clean it!

Yea I had my navel pierced as well. It hurt me for about 3-4 weeks. And then of course you have clothes that catch on it, blankets while sleeping, accidentally hitting it with your hand while sleeping or whatnot. Mine just never quite healed up right becuase of the pants I wore (in my opinion)... it got rubbed on all teh time So I ended up taking it out. Wish I still had it.. I thought it was cute. But they aren't cute when they never heal

Mine never healed either, i think that was my most troublesome piercing ever..

Navels take about 2-3 months (or longer) to heal, so yes, I'd expect it to still be tender 3 days later You can't give yourself an injury and expect your body to take it without a word

My navel hurt the entire time I had it, 6 or so months. I absolutely hated that piercing. All of my cartilage piercings plus my 3 nipple piercings put together didn't hurt or give me as much trouble as my navel did.

The tender feeling should be normal but I dunno how long it lasts... I've had mine for almost two months and it always gets in the way... I always worry about trying not to bump it, and my clothes always rub against it. Grr. But for me, cartilage piercings seem to give me more trouble.

Ahh k...well it's been almost a week and it's noticeably less tender. I've only hit it a couple times since I got it done...I've been doing a good job at avoiding it so it should be alright in the end. []

my belly button piercing hurt for a week or so and was pretty bruised up. but after about 6 months? it was better and could be easily forgotten about even when i sat down and did stretches and anything else...
