I started stretching my left ear, (16G to 14G on Thursday), and the past two days when I am putting on oil my Single Flair plug slips 3/4 of the way through my ear with no pain, but the back part of my ear stops it. I have taken the o rings from the taper and popped them on the front, but I was just wondering why my ear is so big after only 4 days? 

 Your ear may have self-stretched larger than 14g, at least around the front. This DOES NOT mean that you don't have to wait to stretch to 12g, since your ear still needs time to heal from the stretch (and the back of the fistula clearly isn't ready yet). I'd suggest wearing CBRs to avoid the issue altogether.

I personally think the grenade ones are pretty cool (just saw them for the first time), but might be a little heavy.

I had that problem with my initial 10g piercings, it had been a month and my right ear had completely eaten the o-ring. I would try some different jewelry and keep a close eye on it because you do not want the o-ring to slip in your ear and have it heal around it, it's no fun at all.
