My septum is kind of low and I'd really like to make it so I don't get random comments about it when I'm trying to hide it. Right now I have a 6g clear silicone earskin in it which is super comfy but is now slightly torn since I use tweezers to get it in and out. I've been planning on stretching to 4g so I can just buy a new earskin that will hopefully go in easier and won't tear. I noticed the hiders and just wondered if anyone has tried to use those in their septum. A huge hole or anything shiny is going to be way more obvious than something flesh coloured and they're silicone so they'll probably be squishy, right? Are they solid on both sides?
They are squishy but they are only solid on one side. You could try something like a wood plug maybe. It would keep septum funk under control, and you could choose a modest color like a light osage orange, or pink ivory or holly. I'm imagining that your septum must be pretty low if a clear 6g earskin is noticeable.
Something else to consider, the hiders only come in one length (5/16"). I always cut them up so the fit is more personalized though haha
I'm kind of nervous about wearing wood in my septum and double flares are definitely not going to work. What does the other side look like?
Its like a kaos eyelet with a thin piece of silicone over one side, so its kind of like a cup or something of that nature...
Well, I think that will work since it's only really noticeable on one side.
Thanks for the info.
:D
Personally I have found them to be comfortable in my septum. I wear a 4g hider in there and I get no septum funk. It also stas very clean even with the open side on one end. But this is my experience with them. I've been wearing mine comfortably for the last 3 years.
0g coated second edition eyelet in mine for going on 5+ years now. That is all I wear in it.
