    Sternum Microdermals?

So in the near future I plan to go get two vertical sternum microdermals... does anyone here have them?  How is the experience and the healing?  Will I have a harder time healing because my breasts are large? (like, when I sleep on my side and they press together)

    Thanks for any advice  :)

00g lobes; 18g right helix; 16g left rook; 12g left conch; 8g tongue; 18g double nostrils; 14g septum

Ink: Simba on right shoulder blade; Daisy behind left ear; Sugar Skull on right forearm

    Do want.

    Re: Sternum Microdermals?

I had one, it rejected.  The experience of the piercing/punching was fine - low on my weak-ass pain scale.  I think mine rejected because it was so low and my boobs crushed them while sleeping and while I was on the computer (the laptop sits on the left hand arm of the couch and I reach across for hours at a time.)  I also think mine was *slightly* off centered which just aided in the rejection process.

Anyway, I had mine for about 6 months before it started acting up. It was a cinch to heal - no bandaids or anything like that.  I'd do it again, but this is the first scar I've ever had from a piercing and I'm not overly impressed with it, nor jumping in line to get another one.

That's about all I have for you.  If I didn't cover something, let me know.

There's also pics of the rejecting process somewhere in Post Your Pictures.

    Good luck Smile.

    Lobes: 5/8" lobes x2; 2g x1 (2nd hole); 4g x1 (3rd hole). 10g septum. 8g tongue. 12g nipple. 16g eyebrow. 2.5 year old dreads. Sternum microdermal (rejected).

Okay, so I'm not really at all worried about the piercing itself... but my big concern is the boob-crushing.  Mine are pretty big  (42D) and I usually sleep on my side or lay on my stomach (which I'm actually trying to get out of the habit of to avoid irritating my rook).

I'm not sure if all of that can be avoided by placing them slightly higher than the typical "cleavage" piercings.  I don't mind them being a bit higher, but I don't want them high enough that they're in the middle of nowhere on my breast plate or looking almost like it's supposed to be a Madison lol.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying.  A couple years ago oo0RoseOoo (I think that's her name) had them (another well endowed BAF memeber) and they worked out well for her.

I sleep on my stomach or on my side.  When I slept on my side I put a pillow between the girls so I didn't swish the poor micro so much - still didn't work out.

I think there's just a lot of movement in that area for us which makes it harder to keep the piercing.  Talk to your piercer about it, they should be able to tell you if where you want it is possible or just a dream.

    Re: Sternum Microdermals?

I've had mine for almost a year now. I'm an A cup and it is still uncomfortable to lay on my side without any support. I usually just wear a sports bra or shelf tank to bed.

They healed very easily. Mine do like to act up every 28 days with my cycle. They took over that job from my nipple piercings- quite annoying.

Current mods: 7/16" lobes, secondary standard lobes, 14g conch, 14g orbital, 14g industrial, 4g tongue, 14g navel, 14g nipples, 6g septum (Septum Klub 2K7!!1!), two happy tattoos

Haha, thanks for remembering me, scruffy!

My microdermal (i only have one) is placed so when I'm wearing a plunge bra (like this: http://www.lanebryant.com/product/Cacique/Bras/plunge/Smooth-plunge-bra/36854/pc/4043/pslot/3/sc/110/c/4044.uts) it's about 4 inches above the middle part. So it's pretty well settled in my cleavage. I'm a 44D btw.

Like others have said mine healed up super fast. The first couple days I was wary of sleeping on my side, so I tried to sleep on my back. I'd usually wake up on my side and it would be a little sore, but the soreness went away after a short SSS.  After about a month I was able to sleep on my side with no trouble.

I've had it for almost a year and a half, and overall it's settled pretty well. When i stand up straight or if i'm not wearing a bra, it sits about a millimeter off my skin. Pretty sure it's cause for me my sternum is kind of a fatty area and therefore increases and decreases in thickness depending on how i'm standing.

Mine also acts up along with my cycle. Pretty much every 28 days it will get crusty and i'll kind of have to gently push on the skin around it to get the lymph out. Other than that the only time it gets sore is when i'm reaching across my body with one arm for a long period of time. It just starts to feel uncomfortable.

Alright I've talked enough. Lemme know if you have any other questions, k?

Thanks so much ^_^  I'm not sure when I'm actually getting them-- since I want two of them it's gonna cost a little extra out of my wallet so I'm hoping within the month to be able to get them done.  It's relieving to hear that it may not be a problem taking off my bra (I was worried it could feel, idk, "heavy" or "pulling")... I'm pretty big so I have a good amount of skin/fat on my sternum.

I can't wait to get them now  :)

HEY Rose!  I was wondering if you had disappeared altogether.  Glad to hear your micro is still alive and well!!!

Lolo: I didn't mention, but Rose kinda covered it, I didn't sleep with a bra on either.  And while I'm not gonna say what my bra size is, let's just say that if it were a competion, I'd win Hmm.  I didn't feel any pulling or heavy feeling either.  If anything, the micro tilted ever-so-slightly up when I was wearing a bra.
