    bleeding stretched ears..?

a while ago, I stretched my ears straight to an 8g. I didn't know much about stretching and thought I should start there. It healed fine and I kept it in for a few months. After I found out what gauge it was, I bought 00g tapers and plugs and decided to use teflon tape until I was at 0g to not skip sizes. I'm not sure what my ear is at now, but whenever I take out the right one, [I downsized the left when I was scare that it might be infected] it feels like it's stuck, and it bleeds once I get it out to clean it. i don't think it's infected, but I think that the tissue might be growing onto the teflon tape a little bit and when I take them out, it has to..unattach itself ? so, I've been cleaning it and soaking it in saline solution. am I going to have to take it out ? or just downsize ? can I leave it in and just baby it until it heals before stretching anymore ?

measure the plugs you currently have in your ear in milimeters, then convert them to gauge sizes. buy a pair of SF glass plugs a size or two smaller than where you're currently at and put those in. saline solution once a day should help, don't mess with them too much or you'll just make your lobes cranky. stay at that size until your lobes are healed (at least a month I'd think) and go from there.

why did you buy a set of 00g tapers if you were planning on taping to that size?

bleeding is a pretty bad thing, it means you've caused some trauma to your ears. i would either go naked or at least downsize a few sizes, buy some glass and steel single flare plugs, do sea salt soaks twice a day, and not start stretching again for six months.

i know it's definitely not what you want to hear, but you only have one set of lobes keep them pretty :]

if i'm getting this, she doesn't know exactly what size her lobes are, but her plan was to tape all the way from 8g-0g, yes. (i'm guessing not proper waiting times/resting based on the fact that she went straight to 8g...)

    Re: bleeding stretched ears..?

on the upside your ears are probably so badly damaged they'd heal up completely if you took your plugs out.

No matter how much you soak your ear, if you keep throwing the same sized.. whatever you have in your ear back in, it's not going to heal and only going to do more damage.

Are you even using any lubricating aid in insertion and removal?

    Re: bleeding stretched ears..?

I actually kind of had the same thing happen with teflon tape like a week or so ago. I was at a 0g and the goal wasto stretch to 10mm with teflon tape. I was really patient and then after like a week the skin just broke down. My skin is really sensitive and for me it was just a reaction to the tape itself. Both of my ears bleed and were really infected for a few days. I took the tape off my plugs and downsized back to the 0g for like another week and did some sea salt soaks and put a lot of bacitration on my ears for like a week. They healed up just fine and i actually managed to get the 10mm plugs i bought in today.

I did plan on going to og, but not all at once. I would tape every other day or every three days, enough to go up just a size or two, then stop for a while until it was healed and comfortable. I didn't tape it if it felt tight or painful. but I took it all off and now the right one is back at 8g and healed very quickly, but im waiting a while before taping anymore.

Don't skip sizes... period. Going up a size or two is skipping whether you tape, taper or dead stretch.  Good that you downsized...

As Adwoa indicated, even if you tape you need to stop at every millimeter increment or so and give your ears a rest for a few months. Taping lets you move up gradually, but it won't make you get to your goal size faster...

I know that it lets you move up gradually.

that's exactly what I was trying to do.

I was going at a normal pace.

just with tape instead of tapers because i

couldn't afford that many different sizes.

It seems that you taped too often/too fast since your ears are now bleeding...
