    Parent/Child Piercing Experience

Last week my 15 year old son and I went and got 4g lobe piercings together. It was a fun thing to do together and it has been helpful to keep each other reminded to take care of them (really good accountability). I would encouraged others to share the experience with their kids as well. The only negative thing is we picked the same jewelry and I think he is a little bit embarrassed that we are now "twinsies".

     that's really cool!

i'm slowly convincing my mom to get a tattoo with me (she has none). she went with me to get my first two and sat by my side the whole time. she has when i've gotten my piercings too. it's cute, when i got my septum pierced the whole ride there she kept complaining about it and how ugly they are and i'd look like a bull. after it was pierced she said "you know what, i like it. it looks good on you. and you don't really look like a bull." hahahah. thanks mom. OH, she's been with me through my whole stretching journey too, and she wants to stretch her ears now. just to little ones, probably 8g or so, so she can wear cute spirals :] so i'm thinking maybe for christmas get her some stretching material and a pair of cute goal size spirals. just gotta talk with her more about it :D

current: 2g lobes, 14g septum (pierced at 16g), 16g cartilage x2, two tattoos.
    wishlist ;)

    Re: Parent/Child Piercing Experience

How neat!  I recently got my mom into piercing, after I convinced her to get the nostril piercing that she's wanted for years.  She got a tiny diamond nose screw.  Now she wants me to design a tattoo for her (because I'm the artistic one in the family), and she may consider getting a monroe when she retires.  I'm planning to get her a bunch of nose jewelry for her birthday in December, from BAF of course!

It's exciting to have someone to share the experiences with, isn't it?

    Current Piercings:

    16g Labret
    12g Tongue
2 16g Cartilage (Retired because of bad placement!)
    2 20g Lobes
    2 4g Lobes

     very cute stories.

my mom wants to stretch but i don't trust her to know what she's doing or even think about it, really.

she does have a lot of tattoos.. they were just homemade.

1/2" lobes, 6g conches, septum, monroe, tongue, "snakebites" [ or whatever you kids are calling them these days. ] 8 tattoos so far, although seven of them will be blended together eventually. wishing for more.

I SO wish my mom was like that. Though she says it's my body and I can 'ruin' it how I want -for the most part anyway-, I know she wishes she could just tell me no, and to stop it, like when I was a kid.

Both times my mom has come with me to get tattooed, she made fun of me.

Sounds like my mom...but she's a total hypocrite.  Both of my parents have 2 tattoos each, lobe piercings.  But they say that my piercings and tattoos are 'ruining' my body.  Everytime I get a new tattoo, my parents are like 'UGH!'  I'm like...seriously?  You have tattoos, too!

But in their defense, my parents did take me to get my first tattoo and my navel piercing...they left me there alone both times, though, and just came back when it was done. haha   Thanks, guys. haha

When I get piercings, my mom signs the forms, makes sure everything is in order, then goes to sit in the car. :( I wish she would stay with me one time.

When I got my first professional piercing (my industrial) my dad held my legs because I was holding a friend's hand. I thought that was nice.

Metal: 4g lobes, 18g right nostril, 16g(?) tragus, full set of braces

Upcoming: 2nd lobes, conch, several more

Retired: first set of 20g lobes forever ago, 16g second lobes, right ear industrial, left nostril, 14g navel (Obviously piercings don't love to stay in my body happily.)

Alabama. She signs the consent forms. When I go back to the piercing room, she goes to the car and waits.

    Re: Parent/Child Piercing Experience

hell i wish my parents were cool about my piercings. My father is one of those judgmental people who calls himself a christian but refuses to accept things that he deems abnormal or unlike him. He is slowly getting my mom to be the same way. Yesterxday my dad noticed my 2g plugs i put in on the 11th. They both demand i take them out witihn 24hrs or else.

My dads excuse is that it makes "HIM" uncomfortable that "I" choose to stretch my ears. He even made a comment about another persons naked cat assed lobes that they could stick their finger through. I tried to explain that the persons ears are that way because he obviously went to fast and didnt do it right and were much larger than i ever intend to go...but once again he didnt wanna here it because my opinion is in his mind..is.some kind of smart ass comment to attack him.

I have been at this for over a year. I have educated myself and know the consequences and what happens if i rush or go really big. Im not 14yrs old or a freshmen in high school who is doing it to be cool!!! I am 20yrs old and a junior at a community college and doing it because i want to...Despite what my dad thinks I can make rational decisions with out him having to guide me. He thinks that all of my decisions are childish and that im somehow stuck with a teenage mindset because i choose to stretch my ears. My fathers thinking is irrational. He shouldnt really put my goals down like he does just because they make him feel uncomfortable. He should just let me be me and do as i please (within reason). He should support me through almost anything i choose to do instead of criticizing and denouncing it just because it doesnt fit into his own personal views of what is normal, biblically correct(hes never read the entire all the way through) or acceptable

    Re: Parent/Child Piercing Experience

My sister and I wanted our navels pierced (I was 17 she was 16). We were on our beach vacation and my dad promised that on the last day he would take us. My mom wasn't thrilled but I guess my dad just wanted to see his little girls happy. When we got there my Mom wouldn't even go inside the building, she just sat in the car. My dad came in, signed the forms, scoped everything out for cleanliness etc, and watched the whole process. It was really cool of him to do that and now about 8 years later I still think of that "bonding" moment every time I look at it. :)

Me and my two sisters want to get a matching tattoo and are still convincing our Mom to do it with us. She says the only tattoo she will ever get is a little rubber duck with a halo and angel wings. (We called our grandmother "grandma duck" because we couldn't pronounce her last name when we were little. We couldn't pronounce "Wadecki" so it just evolved into "duckie" then "duck".) But anyways, we came up with that tattoo idea for my Mom after my grandmother passed and she loved it! She always says whe will get it eventually, and I think my sisters and I will get it too, but I know she will chicken out and it will never happen. She's not too keen on body mods.

Mods: 18g helix, 16g tragus, 2g lobes (going to 0g, re-stretching for the 2nd time), 16g second lobes, 18g nostril, 14g navel, 16g septum, in progress lower back piece tattoo.

    Re: Parent/Child Piercing Experience

hehe, I got my mom some of those 16g 'fake' eyelets with pink gems. Shes worn them a few times now. She has (for the most part) been cool about my stuff, but dad has been downright rude and disrespectful about it, chasing me with sidecutters and pliers to pull rings out and stuff :( He's better these days, he said he just doesn't think about it now. I could never convince them to sign for me though... I remember trying to get them to sign for me to get a tattoo when I was 13 (that was legal in TX back then) and they were not really happy about that :)

If my mom lived closer I would totally take her with me to get piercings and tattoos... I always call her right before I go in so she can ask all sorts of questions and such. We have planned on getting semi matching tattoos for a while now.. the timing has been off so far though.

My parents are kind of weird about body modification.  They both think piercings are ugly.  They never really wanted me to stretch my ears, but told me I could anyway, so I did.  Now I have a lot of jewelry that they like and my mom compliments my glass spirals. They really don't like piercings, but for the most part tolerate them.  They've taken me to get a few so far.  On the other hand, they both have a bunch of tattoos and took me to get my first on my 16th birthday.  At 19, I still surprisingly like the design. lol   Last year, we all went to get semi matching tattoos.

0g bottom lobes, 10g/8g second lobe holes, 8g conches (one pierced and stretched, one punched), tongue web, and a couple tattoos
