Getting rid of a lip tattoo?

    Locked Reply Contact

I had my friend do my lip when he got his gun, i was only like the 2nd person he tattoed, I knew it wasn't gonna be great, but I figured, he's my friend, and it's my lip so if it turned out bad, who cares. It actually wasn't too bad, but half of it faded right away, and the resy wont go away. I plan on getting it redone professionally, but have tried listerene (i heard it's the last thing you want for a lip tat) and was suggested to chew tobaccoo to help it fade, any suggestions?

Not to be harsh, but learn to live with a bad decision.

Yeah :( It was honestly a really irresponsible move on my part, but, actually, there isn't a but, like you said, dumb decision :(

Or just wait to get it covered by another artist. Luckily your tattoo is in a less than visible area. Just make sure you scope out a professional's folio before you commit to their cover-up art. Good luck!

Frankly I'm unimpressed with the disdain.  We've all done things we should have thought through more, and disparaging a past action that he already regrets is redundant and unproductive.

To the original poster, as far as advice goes I don't think there is much you can do outside of checking out laser options or, as previously suggested, tattooing over it.

The homegrown grown solutions are most likely completely useless or dangerous.  After all, tattoos aren't meant to come off so any measures that would get them off would be pretty serious business and not something to be attempted without a professional.

I recommend avoiding the cheese grater method at all costs.

Lazer, Coverup or wait a few years till it dissapears(which it should if its on the inside of the lip)

Not the worst home tattoo ive heard of, one of my best friends has an arrow on her leg because her brother got drunk one night and convinced her to whip out the machine...not to big thankfully ^^

Yet to get a tattoo myself, not sure if i ever will, if i do its going to be a dot work half sleeve but again... doubtfull.

Not to sound ignorant, but you don't even see it, right?  Couldn't you just leave it alone, and try to forget about it??  Or, as said above, get it covered by another artist.  Good luck!

OP: I think you have the idea already, do the best you can with a coverup and learn from your choices.

Um, don't chew tobacco to get rid of your tattoo. Also someone said that it'd fade in a few years, not always the case. Mine half fell out when it was healing and has stayed the same ever since and I've had it for years.

Leave it alone until you get it covered up, or fixed, or whatever. Or just leave it alone. I don't even remember I have mine most of the time, I imagine you won't remember it either if you stop thinking about it.

ohh that cheese grater thingy scared me haha i'm not quite sure how it looks; are you going to have it redone the same, or are you looking to do a coverup type thing?
