    DF Help

Hey, so I'm sure this has been posted before, but I couldn't, for the life of me, find it!  So if it's been done, SORRY!! :(

Okay, my question is about double flares.  I got these http://www.bodyartforms.com/productdetails.asp?ProductID=4140 this week in 4g, and I got all lubed up yesterday, but they wouldn't go in!! :(  I've been at 4g for almost two months.  All I've ever worn is single flare, so I guess they're just not stretchy enough?  Any tips on how to get them a little looser?  Once I am able to get them in, will I be able to get them out!?  The hole won't 'close up' around the plug?  Sorry, these are kind dumb questions, but I'll never know if I don't ask, right?!  Any tips would be GREAT!!  I'm so excited to wear these!!

You'll just need to wait until your lobes are stretchy enough to accomodate the flares. Massages will help to loosen up the tissue a bit. Just don't force it :) If the flares are really steep, it may take a while to be able to wear them.

What i do when i get ready for double flares is pull on my jewelry in lobe throughout the day it gets your lobe streatchy and loose.  Also try taping your single flares little by little until they're about the size of the flare your trying to fit in.  Don't worry it shouldn't take long before you can wear your new flourite DFs.  : )

Measure the flares on the plugs, they may be a few sizes larger than the wearable size is, if they are too large you may not be able to get them in, at all.

I have a pair of 2g amber plugs with a crazy flare.  The only way I can get them in is to wear 0g plugs the night before (I stretched up to 0g just so I could handle tough flares), take a hot shower and oil up immediately after.  My ears haven't gotten stuck in them, but then again I only remove them during a hot shower.  If you're worried about them getting stuck you could always tape the wearable surface a little to minimize the size difference.

So if the flares are that big, you might have to stretch up to accomadate them.  Though that doesn't mean you have to stay at the larger size.  I wear 2g about 95% of the time but all I need is a bit of oil to get in 0g (single flare) since my ears have been stretched that far in the past.

current: 2g lobes, wrist tattoo, shoulder tattoo, matching thighs...done!

pending: a few more tattoos, but not few a years

Is that okay?  To go back and forth between sizes?  Won't that mess up your lobe...somehow?  ha I don't know...  Yeah, I'm always messing with my jewelry, just out of nervous habit. haha  Maybe I'll make an effort to do it more...  And if I just can't get them in, I'll just wait till I stretch to 2 and tape them so they're bigger.  Who knows.  Thanks ya'll!!

Not if you follow the usual stretching timeline getting there.  It wouldn't really be anything different than if you wore some 6gs with a massive flare now.  You're ears are stretched enough that the flare wouldn't be an issue and going back to 4g wouldn't really be very difficult.  Though I suppose if you plan on stretching much further you might not be that interested  in wearing the plugs once you stretch up.

     either way good luck :)

It's fine as long as you allow adequate time for healing when stretching up. And when done after a while it will help the elasticity

DF's take some time to wear but once you can get them in youll be good to go. It may feel wierd the first few times you pop them in and out. Remember to take them out on a reglar basis because they will get stuck in your ears once or twice a day is plenty

If your ears are fully healed and ready for DF you don't need to take them out twice a day.

It could be an issue if the flares are really huge.  But that's the sort of thing you just have to judge at your own discretion.

My personal experience has been that with really big flares once they're in you shouldn't mess with them until you want to get them out.  And then it's probably best to remove them during a hot shower with a little oil handy.  Randomly removing jewelry with large flares throughout the day without something to loosen your lobes is more likely to irritate your lobes than help them.

I'm at 4g as well. It took me a while (3 or 4 months?) for my ears to comfortably take double flares. They should just slip out when your ears are stretchy enough.. give it a little time. You'll get there. Smile

But, then, when they're stretchy enough to just 'slip' in and out, will they fall out on their own??
