what are you having for dinner?

This may seem stupid, but I thought it might be fun for us to post what goofy thing you're having for dinner/lunch.  I'm always looking for new things to eat that dont really have a recipe, per-say..  I dont mean like, "I'm having a hot pocket", either.  I mean things you're actually putting together.

    for example:

for dinner tonight I'm having a wrap made with ham, turkey, bacon-ranch dressing, a string cheese (peeled in a bunch of pieces, of course..) and fresh spinach in a tomato/olive oil tortilla, and some costco-brand strawberry yogurt that I stuck in the freezer a while ago.

I'm interested in seeing what kinds of combinations people put together and getting some new ideas.

    6g lobes. left half sleeve.

I had some homemade chicken and rice soup with some lemon in it, and some homemade (well, we didn't bake the bread ourselves- just slathered it in delicious and re-baked) garlic bread.

This may sound weird, but in the summer i like to take tomatos from our garden, cut the top off, and take out the insides. i mix the insides with tuna (mixed with mayo) and stuff this back inside the tomatos, and eat. its so yummy!

I made hummus with chickpeas (obv), olive oil, garlic, lemon, and tahini :)  Then I made Tampenade (sp?) with some nice oil cured olives, sun dried tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  Then I'm just going to warm up some nice flatbread.

    Mmmmmmmmm.

Last night my wife made black bean burgers. Mashed black beans, rolled oats and pureed onion, garlic and green pepper, binded with egg, served on a whole wheat bun with cheese and tomato. A pretty good substitute for beef, but it needs a little 'something' in terms of flavor.

My grandma and aunt are here from Maine so we went to a Mexican restaurant. I got beef chimichangas and they were so damn good.

Jaeger Eintopf.  I used grilled strips of venison instead of coarse ground beef.  Had a pint of Boddingtons bitter with it since I don't have anything better in the house now.

mmmm, I love mexican food.  Which restaurant did you go to?

I made spaghetti and weiners for dinner.  I find it's too much effort to cook if it's only for one person.

    yay for naps!

I had leftover...soup?... that I made a couple of days ago. I was going to have chicken, rice, and black beans for dinner one night, and just decided to put it all together in the pot I made the rice in and make soup out of it. I cut the chicken breast in small cubes, and put V8 in it since I didn't have any tomato sauce/paste. It actually turned out really good.

Tomato soup with rice, and some bread.  I'm on a soup kick.

On a side note: I, too, am interested in hearing about what kangaroo tastes like.  Smile
