    Ring opening and closing pliers

Hey everyone, I had a question on ring opening pliers and ring closing pliers. I plan on buying a seamless lip ring from BAF, but I'm not sure if I need BOTH pliers, one to open and one to close. Is it really necessary to have both, or can I buy one and it will do both functions? If I have to buy both, someone needs to design one up that has one on each end or somethin, haha. Thanks!

You don't really need them at all in smaller gauges. I'm assuming, since it's for your lip, that you'll be able to open and close it pretty easily with your hands.

Yeahh I was thinking that too (my lip is 14g), but I read the reviews on the product I want to buy, and one person said "Gauge purchased: 10g. I bought this without owning ring openers and let me tell you, it is impossible to open. I haven't been able to open it even with regular pliars yet. Which is sad, because I know it would look awesome in my septum." So I'm wary of buying it without an opener or closer. Plus I have a captive ring in my tragus, 16g, and I cannot get that open for the life of me.

There's a pretty big difference between a 10g ring and a 14g one, though. Seriously, if you just play around with it for a little while, and practice opening and closing it, you shouldn't need pliers. I have a 14g captive in my daith that I can pop the ball in and out of, no problem.

I can open and close my 16g seamless with no trouble, but I do need pliers to completely make it seamless sometimes.

alright you guys convinced me, I'll buy the ring and see how easy it is to do it, and if not I'll just go back and buy the pliers. Thanks!!

Heyyy that was my review about the 10g seamless ring! Smile Just a side note- I've been able to open and close 14-16g captive with my bare hands, but the 10g ones are A LOT harder.  Good luck!
