    being pierced at larger gauges

ok i plan on getting me septum pierced soon and i was wondering about any negetive effects of getting pierced at 8 guage. I know its going to hurt and i know about the tip of your nose changing shape after being stretched to a certain size. But is there any other problems that could occur?

future mods:labret, septum, bridge, industrial, anti-eyebrow, nipples, and 1 1/4 lobes

hmm well i got my ears pierced straight to 6g with no taper involved whatsoever, i gotta tell you.. i bleed A LOT. not just at the shop but at home it was just bleeding profusely the second day after my shower. so my advice is to get pierced a size lower and tell them to taper to the next size up, but i dunno if that works with a septum piercing. someone correct me if i am. but then again you might not bleed at all, everybody is different.

Keep in mind you may not have room to get pierced at such a large gauge initially. Depending on how small the space between your cartilage is, you may have to just stretch up.

I just got mine done at 10g, as long as there is room you should be okay, but like Rick said chance of it being crooked.
