I just finger knitted a scarf out of two old t-shirts. I  cut them both into lots of little strips and tied them all together. It's about eight feet long and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I was thinking about selling it, but I think I really wanna keep it for myself.

It's a very cute scarf. No matter how many times I've tried finger knitting, I've just never got it.

    thank you :]

I think I'm definitely gonna keep this one, but I'm gonna go to goodwill sometime in the next few days to find a bunch of t-shirts to cut up so I can make more. I also might try using an assortment of scrap fabric to make one too; since my grandmother was a quilter and she left us all of her quilting stuff (fabric, threads, sewing machines, assorted tools, batting) and we have boxes of fabric just sitting around not being used.

    thanks ^_^

I think I actually prefer finger knitting to standard knitting 'cause I seem to have more luck with it. I never really learned everything you need to know about knitting so I can only do  a stockinette stitch, and my edges always roll 'cause I didn't get around to learning about blocking.

Plus I've always preferred  long skinny scarves made out of bulky yarns (or fabric scraps) and for me this is the easiest way to make them.

http://www.knitty.com/issuesummer06/FEATfingerknitting.html that's the tutorial I used to learn to finger knit.

Maybe it's only me, Ellie B., but you look slimmer in that pic than in your avatar. If yes, congrats!

And that  scarf is awesome! I think I'm gonna buy a whole lot of sheep hair (sorry, babelfish gives me "tease" for laine, and I'm not sure that is the word I want lol) , and give it to my pregnant sister-in-law, so she won't think about piercing, she'll think about making me wonderful scarves!
