Annie, you'll be glad to know that the store I work in does not deal with dogs of any kind! We have cats that are up for adoption through the SPCA. The local SPCA is always over-run with cats, so we're not only helping them out by taking some in, but we're helping the cats by giving them good homes.

In fact, I am applying for one of the cats tomorrow. There's a specific female, Jaden, who is four years old and kind of chubby. No one pays any interest in her, but I love her. I want to take her home! 

Both of my kitties are rescues.  One was a stray on somebody's land, and the guy told me that if I didn't take the cat home he would shoot it.  I named him Napoleon, and even though he was kind of a bastard at first(clawed at my feet and bit a lot, but both while playing and never aggresive) now that he's older he's pretty much the best cat ever.  My younger one was a shelter cat that actually was on his second chance.  His previous home didn't work out so he was brought back.  What can I say, I'm a sucker for the underdogs undercats.

I know where you're coming from, I haven't owned a television in years.

To me, cable is just more pointless television, except people actually pay for it.  There are very few channels that I would be willing to pay for(history channel), and even the draw to those few quality programs isn't enough for me to shell out cash for the rest of the crap.  My hubby is a huge gamer, so we have a pretty nice tv, but I haven't paid for cable in years.  I have in the past had free cable that my roomates may or may not have paid for
