Ok, so I know I'm not the only visual learner out there, so here's a pretty straightforward guide to stretching with some actual pictures...
make sure to read over this thread as well for more information and what can go wrong...
First, make sure you have your jewelry. You'll need something made from glass, implant-grade steel, or titanium for a fresh stretch. Make sure it is either single flare or no flare jewelry- you will need some O-rings. You can get them free with any BAF order.

Provon
Emu Oil
Jojoba Oil
It's ok to have some resistance. Apply slow pressure and try to work towards the end of the taper. If you get stuck, you could just need more lube. The more lube you use, the better. (Just be careful to wipe some off if you're stretching with glass, things can get slippery and you don't want it to go flying out of your hands and break) You may or may not feel a stinging or burning sensation- this is OK. You should not, however, feel any real pain, have to grit your teeth, see blood, or feel a pop. Blood and/or popping means you've probably torn something. If that happens, go back down to your previous gauge, and possibly even one gauge lower. Treat any blowout or tear as a new piercing and wait a while before attempting to stretch again.
concave taper
Remove the o-rings from the taper, and support it with your hand. With your plug-wielding hand, push OUT the taper with the jewelry. Go slowly, you may need to apply some steady pressure to get it to pop through. Be careful, and don't force the jewelry if it gets stuck- just re-taper.
Add another o-ring on the other side, and you're done. Make sure to adjust the o-rings so they aren't tight on your lobe, give it plenty of room to breathe while it is recuperating from the stretch.
