it's really hard to take a photo of a tattoo indoors at night with computer lighting...
White ink tattoos are quite unpredictable and it really depends on your skin type how they will heal and age. Pasty white skin that never sees the sun is best! It will look it's whitest and if it doesn't see much sun then it won't yellow as much over time. remember you are seeing the ink *through* your skin, so if you have darker skin it is not going to look as white.
I've heard that Star Brite white is a good brand of white ink, it's a common one too. Most artists will only do small designs and preferably just linework because it is so hard to get it solid because a) they can't really see what they're doing and b) white ink is a bit of a different consistency to other inks.
Here's a photo. From a small distance my tattoos look nice and uniform, but close up you can see that there's a few patchy bits and that the outline is slightly brighter and more defined than the fill. But that's only when you're up super-close and analysing it!
