hey doods. just a quick question to see how others ears react to going naked. my ears at night i take out the plugs and they are round and smooth and soft and no wrinkles, they are healthy due to my babying over the years. i massage with jojoba and sleep naked, and when i wake up in the morning the hole is wrinkly and litterally looks like its shrunk to about 12G or so..but i massage with jojoba and the 1/2" goes in easy. its not a concern or anything, just curious how other ears go after a naked period. i saw in an old post a picture of someones ears at 1/2 after being naked for over a day, the hole still looks like1/2ish and has a little bit of wrinkles around. later :)

 totally normal. mine get a bit wrinkly and turn into slits overnight. some people's holes stay round. 

Mine (5/8") superficially appear to close up altogether overnight, just a closed slit with a tiny bit of wrinkling, you can't see light through them at all. I have no difficulty getting my plugs back in in the mornings though. I like to think this means my lobes are in good shape and I don't have scar tissue holding them open

i -used- to have my holes stay basically-open/round overnite...  nowadays, they -do- seem to close up into slits and get wrinkly...  i had not decided if it was something new or maybe weather-related or what...  oddly, my stretchy-ear gets this 'worse' than my bitch-ear (ie - the b.e. still shrinks, just not wrinkly)...  i think this (shrinkage) is why i really like the whale-tails, cuz it is kinda like a taper going in (due to the pointy end) and i can always stop if anything doesnt feel right...

 When my double flared plugs started flopping out of my ears randomly, I started sleeping without them. In the morning, they look like little vertical slits - almost like conventional ear piercings that have been pulled or torn. It amazes me that my plugs pop right in again, even after days of emptiness. And a bonus benefit to sleeping bare is that they aren't as cockeyed as they used to be.

Hey man, mine do exactly the same thing. I'm at 5/8s and they go down to what looks about a 7/16's or so, but they always go back to 5/8's with no problem. I love leaving my lobes naked at night.

 Heh my lobes look tiny within minutes after I remove the jewelry. I don't sleep without plugs (since I've only been at 1g a few weeks...I think), but I do take them out for a least an hour or two a day. By the end of that time they could probably pass for "normal" piercings, although my jewelry goes in easily with some emu oil.

i also think this is just a sign that ears are being taken care of. a friend of mine, after treating his ears terribly and rejecting any advice i gave, is trying to shrink from 12mm back to a 18G, and after 2 months of naked, his ears still look big, ugly, red and scarred.

I sleep w/o my plugs in and they get wrinkly but no problems getting the plugs back in in the morning
