    new to silicone

i was wondering what kind of silicone people thought was the most comfy to wear and get in at 6g??? im going snowboarding and want something i dont have to worry about and is comfy under a beanie all day. also i think it would be warmer with silicone. any thoughts and experiences would be appreciated. thanks

I wore Kaos eyelets under a beanie all day, and my ears felt fine. You want to make sure you take them out and clean them after you wear it though, because if your beanie is like mine, you will probably have fuzz practically in your ear. Any of the silicone options that BAF has would work great.

i pretty much wear my 6g sea blue earskins every day of my life, they are so extremely comfy and cute.

you can also opt for 6g solid silicone plugs, and i imagine they would be warmer since the silicone is thicker.

there are a bunch of colors available but here's one: http://www.bodyartforms.com/productdetails.asp?keywords=&jewelry=&gauge=&material=&price=&brand=Kaos+Softwear&Advanced=Search&ProductID=6241&index=5

    6g lobies.

I personally HATE the eyelets.  I had to cut the back flares of my 4g down just to get them in, and then at that small of a size, I didnt' like how they looked! :(

I love the earskins and solid fronts, but the fuzz thing was a good point that I didn't think about!  I'd go for earskins over solid fronts with the beanie...

Just a warning, earskins that small are going to be a royal pain in the ass to get in.  Just be patient and keep the oil out!  BUUUTTTT...once you do get them in, you're never gonna want to take them out!!  I LOVE THEM!!  I can't wait til my ear's healed so I can wear them again!

earskins are silicone, and are like organics - which means not good for fresh str etches...  do not stretch right before your trip - bad idea...  first, if you have any problems - you wont be at home with all your appropriate supplies and comfort...  second, why force yourself to have to 'deal with' an extra issue like sss during your vacation...  as it is, you should prolly bring a little mini-kit of sss and downsizing/solid plugs - just in case you have a really-nasty-crash and make your 'healed' piercing angry...  be prepared - so that you can have a fun trip with no problems.  enjoy, h.

exactly 8.25250000001mm (0g) ear lobes only... so far...

It depends on when you are going on your trip, I would say wait at least 3 weeks until you can put the new jewelry in.

I agree with Harold, that you should not stretch right before a trip.  When I stretched to 2g, I thought all was well, then two days post-stretch, I got my tear (or whatever it was).  I'd hate for you to be away from home and something like this happen to you.  A mini-kit with extra plugs isn't a bad idea.  I always do this when I wear hangies (even to dinner).  If they get uncomfortable, I've got spare plugs in my purse.

For future reference, just hit the 'edit' button on your last post, and add this to the end of it...double-posts are frowned upon. :-D

The way I figured mine out was...seriously...taking a ruler and looking in the mirror.  Or if you have a caliper ($5 on BAF), you could use that.  I wear 1/4", but it seems like the majority of people wear 5/16"?
