I'm writing an essay for my Advance Composition class about what causes people to modify their bodies. I have information from past threads about why people get tattooed, stretch, so on and so forth, but I'm lacking specific testimonies and reasons behind why people get cosmetic surgery.

So, I was wondering if anyone on here had gotten plastic surgery of any kind, and if so why you chose to do it?

Are you writing about purely cosmetic plastic surgery or reconstructive plastic surgery as well?

Technically I believe I've had more of the reconstructive plastic surgery side than cosmetic, but I'm not sure. I had a breast reduction over the summer due to several factors, being in constant back pain, not able to find/buy bras that fit, and unable to wear/buy a lot of girls clothes were the main reasons. I was supposed to have the surgery 2 summers before last but I chickened out semi-last minute.

Ive had 15+ facialcranio surguries because i was born with a bilateral cleft palate. Basically they have rebuilt the entire roof of my mouth via bone grafts and other means. I is all to help me gain an as "normal" appearance as possible.
