    o-rings

what do you think about o rings?

i can't tell if o-rings are my problems, or if i'm not taking care of my ears well. are they bad for healing?

my ears get really crusty and i've had them at 5/8's for about 3 months now. have they given you any problems?

Some people are sensitive to them.

Have you tried the silicone o-rings that baf has?

I can't find them right now either.

I'd say, try again when the site is 100% working.

I was fine with wearing the black nitrile o-rings until I stretched to 2g. They started causing problems for me at that point, and now I wear the clear ones and have no issues whatsoever. You mention that it might be a care issue with your lobes...how do you care for them?

Weird that this happens I actually had a simlar prob like this , when I first started streching my ears I used reg plugs with o-rings everything was fine i stretched really slow then once I got bigger my ears started getting really itchy and red around where the o-rings were I cleaned them put lotion ect.. and they kept getting worse to the point the skin cracked and peeled , bled then scabbed it was disgusting! I had to take my plugs completely out. I then stopped stretching for aloooong time. Then tryed again everything was going good my ears where at I wanna say a 0 gauge and healed up for along time and I made the same mistake got plugs with black o-rings and it happend yet again! Soooo I gave up stretching AGAIN!! Ha and now my third time around am at 00g soon to be 7/16 healthy ears no probs ! And I'm kinda afraid of even trying the clear ones?! But I really wanna be able to wear some plugs that have o-rings. Sooo are the clear ones way diff then the black ones? Like the material? I'm just so afraid I dun wanna mess up my ears again! Cuz those black 0-rings aren't my friends!

    Re: o-rings

hopefully yall can find an oring that works...  but if you start getting the first-symptom of problems (ie itching), then go ahead and remove the plug/oring and put in something else...  that way - you wont have to wait until you have a scab and need to stop stretching - you can just clean/sss and go back to something that is not causing any problems...  idk about the exact details of what materials the orings are made of...  the clear ones are different than the black ones - but since most people dont seem to have -any- issues with orings, it will be up to you yourself to determine whether the clear ones will be ok...  gl, h.

    Re: o-rings

The clear o-rings (as well as the colored o-rings) that BAF carries are all made of silicone. The black ones are nitrile. I can wear nitrile gloves with no problems, but something about those o-rings pisses my ears off. I stick to the clear ones and have a few pairs of colored ones if I feel like switching it up...I've personally never had a problem with any silicone ones.

White, red, blue, etc...as well as other colors in various shapes like stars, flowers, and sawblades. Do a search on BAF and check them out!
