    large gauge conch jewelry options

i have 2g conch piercing stretched from an initial 10g punch over the past 6 years. i have never really found a successful piece of jewelry to wear in them, captive rings get very sore even from wearing headphone or sleeping on my side, barbells lose their threaded balls too quick and conch pins seem to irritate the piercing due to the  close proximity of the o-ring to the piercing itself. does anyone have any good advice or particulate pieces of jewelry they have  had luck with they could recommend?

What kind of barbells are you wearing? They sound cheap if they lose the threaded balls too easy.

Try barbells from IS, Anatometal, WildCat, or LeRoi barbells...or single flare plugs with a long wearable

If the o-rings are irritating your skin you should try the clear or colored silicone ones...I personally can't wear the black nitrile ones, but the others are just fine!

if you like the feel of earskins but want the look of a solid plug you could try kaos's solid front plugs (provided the wearable is long enough). and I second the recommendation to try silicon o-rings rather than the black nitrile ones -- if you can find o-rings you like gorilla glass has several styles of conch pins including ones (T-backs) that are supposed to lie flat and not get knocked around by earbuds, etc. and yeah, if you're having problems with barbells unscrewing, try some high-quality ones (IS, Anatometal). I have a Le Roi curved barbell in my second that has lived there for .... at least 1.5 years. I play with it constantly and I've never found the ball loose, let along lost it. BAF doesn't offer them as large as 2g (they're probably not made that big) but the point is that a high-quality barbell shouldn't be loosing balls. : )

I also think "conch pins" are only really long for looks. I wear plan glass plugs and tunnels in mine and they fit fine! Don't really need a huge wearable at all. (well unless you just have really thick ears heh)

    8g lobes, 2g conches, 8g septum, 10g center lip, 12g left tragus, 14g right eyebrow, 10g 'halfadravya'

One day: 1/2" lobes, 0g conches, 12g right tragus... maybe more

I wear pretty much nothing but colorfronts in my conches, with the clear silicone o-rings on the back.  They never get knocked around.

0g bottom lobes, 10g/8g second lobe holes, 8g conches (one pierced and stretched, one punched), tongue web, and a couple tattoos
