Solution to scarring because of sleeping?

    *Picture Below*

I'm assuming this is scarring at least. It's a bump on the top of my piercings (both ears, 16g CBR), and I cannot for the love of god make it go away. I've been SSS'ing twice a day, and then I switched to 1 SSS and 1 chamomile tea bag compress for 10 minutes, and I've been doing the chamomile tea for a couple weeks now. Nothing seems to be working though, and I'm pretty sure it's due to sleeping on it.

I've tried sleeping on my back, but in my sleep I tend to roll onto my side and sleep on my ears. Is there anything else I should try that would help get rid of these darn bumps?

One thought I had was maybe stretching it to 14g and getting these http://www.bodyartforms.com/productdetails.asp?jewelry=plugs&gauge=14g&ProductID=1199&index=8 . Then I wouldn't have to worry about sleeping on it because there's no CBR to irritate it.

I read somewhere that those pillows shaped like doughnuts are useful for this, but I've not tried it. I might buy one though, because the hypertrophic scarring on my industrial is really annoying me.

    Piercings: 7/16" lobes, 1.6mm lobes, 1.6mm tongue, 1.2mm monroe, 1.6mm labret, 1.6mm septum, 1.6mm navel, 1.6mm R forward helix, 1.6mm R helix, 5mm L helix
    Retired: 1.6mm helix, 4mm lobes, 1.6mm industrial
Tattoos: tudor rose on stomach, cherry blossoms on shoulder blade
Planned: helix orbital, tragus, daith, rook, conch, & more tattoos!

If you switch from a CBR to something like a neometal barbell it might help.  The barbell would move less and cause less irritation. You can get them in 16g so you wouldn't have to stretch.  When I had hypertrophic scarring on my conch, I just switched to snugger, better fitting jewelry and it helped reduce it as much as chamomile compresses and emu oil.

It may not be from sleeping on it.  Some people just scar like that, and there's not always a way to get rid of it.  :(

I do agree, though, that maybe you shouldn't sleep with CBRs in, as they could be getting caught or flipped up, and pulled, etc in your sleep.

I agree with above. Regardless of if you stay at 16g or stretch to 14g I'd put something in that moves around less...neometal threadless labret studs are awesome!

I think the scarring is definitely coming from when I'm sleeping. I woke up this morning and one of my ears had dried up blood all around the piercing. I'll try changing to a barbell and hopefully that will work.

Just make sure it's not too long, or it'll have the same effect.
