How do you get taped jewelry to stay in?

Hello everyone, I have been doing a considerable amount of research and believe that taping will be the way I stretch from 4g to 2g. I have not stretched from 6g to 4g yet but I plan to some time this week, namely after a job interview. One aspect of taping has always elluded me, how do you get the jewelry to stay in after you have been taping for a couple weeks? It seems that once your ears loosen up they would just fall out.

Also, what kind of jewelry would you reccomend? In 4g, I have steel no flare plugs, double flare silicone and double flare tiger's eye plugs. Thank you!

When it starts feeling loose, you should be able to add another 1-2 layers of tape.  Just depends on how much your ears will accept.  Buy some calipers so you can keep check on how big your plugs are and pop the new plugs in when you reach 6mm.  That is, after you do the 6g-4g stretch.  I would definitely use the steel NF plugs.  Wait until your ears are healed and a little loose to put the DF plugs in.  Hope this helps!

lol - measure the jewelry...  the taped jewelry tells you what size youre at.

its ok - i needed the chuckle...  and you can use the calipers to measure your other jewelry too...

on occasion it has happened that jewelry wont-quite feel right and it is oftentimes cuz it (or a bitchy-ear) is off-gauge...  or to measure just-how-big a flare is on something...  or to measure...  (im stopping now - lol)

I stretched from 4g-2g last week and if I remember correctly I had to wrap my 4g plugs with 5 layers of tape then I used the taper just to make sure my ears were at the correct size and sure enough the taper slid right through with very little Vitamin E Oil. Let us know how it goes when you stretch.  Good luck man.

Thanks man, I decided that I am going to stretch to 4g tonight, so maybe in a month or so I will be able to get some digital calipers and stuff, I'm really looking forward to it, and plan to keep everyone updated.

I put o-rings on my plugs when I'm taping, although it shouldn't be necessary. I usually use the size I'm stretching from, since o-rings tend to stretch a bit.

    Oh you pretty things
don't you know you're driving your
    mamas and papas insane?
