    My First Blowout =(

    Locked Reply Contact

Hey everyone, this is m first post =)

I started stretching my ears back in 2004, I started with normal pircing gun holes in my ears and now my ears at at 5/8". I've stretched really slowly over the past years, watching my friends ears turn into cat bums and so on. After I reached 1/2" I began taping my ears as stretching from size to size was hard for me and my lobes, I would tape for a few months and then use the taper for the last bit of stretching to reach the next size up. I've always used teflon tape, using one laer at a time always waiting a month. Whenever I reached my goal size I would stay there for several months.

Anyway, I had about 4 layers of teflon tape going on in both my 5/8" plugs (I feel that 3/4" is my new goal now) and It was time for a new layer of tape. I applied the tape, used lots of vitamin e oil (as I always do) inserted the plugs (no trouble no pain) and went to bed. I woke up in the morning with the most horrible pain in my left ear. I went to the washroom and found my ear was swollen red. I took the plug out and voila, a BLOWOUT! I have no idea what happened, how it happened.

For the past week I've been massaging with vitamin e oil 2-3 times a day and inserting my jewlery from the behind (the blowout was in the back) I even downsized. Tonight when I went to massage my ear I realized that the blowout was gone! The pain was still there but I couldnt see the blowout in the back of my ear. Then I realized it moved to the front of my ear...?

Am I going crazy? Is this possible? It looks like I moved the blowout to the front of my ear. I massaged with oil and inserted the jewlery from the front this time.

Sorry to be lengthy, I'm just so upset and confused about this blowout thing, any support it welcome =(

It really sucks when you try your hardest to make everything good, and something goes wrong. :/ I know how that is. If I were you, I'd just completely remove jewelry from the lobe with the blowout. Just let it be naked until it reabsorbs the skin from it. I know it sucks, but it's necessary.

Ugh!  I agree.  I hate when bad things like this happen to people who actually give a shit about their lobes.  I agree that, unless the skin is broken, you should go naked until it heals as much as it's going to.  I know it's taken you a long time to get here, and this is going to be a pretty major set-back, but it's necessary.  Sad  Just keep doing the massages like you're doing, and be patient and hope that it heals back up.  Good luck!  Let us know how it all goes!

I know gunned piercings are bad, but I don't think it was the CAUSE of it...

OMG YOU WAITED THAT LONG AND STILL GOT A BLOWOUT????

Looks like you followed all the directions of everyone on this forum and still had trouble, that is impossible!!!!

All sarcasm aside, doesn't sound like a big problem I'm sure you can get it figured out.

Here again we have someone that waited longer than they are supposed to and still had a blowout/problem. Looks like someone should re-do the How To thread with some updated information. EVERYBODYS BODYS/EARS ARE DIFFERENT. Lets argue about how long to wait some more its pretty funny.

I am going to 00g by wrapping tape and I am putting about 3 layers on my 0g plugs everyday this is my second day and I'm almost to 10mm. Hope my shit doesn't get fucked up.

Looks like someone can't let things go, that's impossible!!

The stretching how-to post says "Estimated healing time chart between stretches". That should be clear enough. Stop trying to start arguments where they clearly don't belong. This person asked for help, not a jackass who bitches about a forum's guidelines when he doesn't have to be here. The OP has been offered advice, and will update us when necessary. No one cares that you want to stretch your ears too quickly.

I am going to lock this thread.  I think that the last few comments are not going to aid the OP a great deal in dealing with their problem, nor will the degeneration of this thread into petty bickering.  I encourage the OP to consult an APP certified professional piercer for any further advice.  I second harold's good luck wishes.  I'd also like to apologize to the OP for the drama in this thread, and encourage them to create another if they would like to update us with their healing process.
