    Re: Poor placement/small lobes?

    I have a new question-

If I take my time, and keep up with massages, would it be a bad idea to tape up to 7/16" from a 0g? Because:

    1) I would really, really like to avoid differences in 00g jewelry (9mm, 9.5mm, 10mm)

    2) I'm currently taping with internally threaded jewelry that has an 11.5mm back flare, and I don't even have to unscrew them, I can just pop them right out.

    3) I can't afford any of the safe for healing jewelry on this site, and most stores that sell large gauge jewelry only have it labeled as "00g", not "nmm"

If not, does anyone know of any places I can go (besides the mall), that label their jewelry in mm? Do piercing shops do that?

Thanks for any feedback in advance. :)

Most piercing shops label, but will probably be more costly than BAF. And If you get to 00g and are comfortable at the larger end its not a problem to go between the 1-1.5mm difference as long as its not bothering your lobes... I, currently  going  between 5/8 and 11/16

    Im just that awesome!

So.. I can tape up to 7/16"?

And, my lobes aren't bothered at all, just the normal dryness that comes with taping, which is why I keep up with regular oil massages

    11mm update!

Alright, just got to 7/16" after taping up to it, and my lobes are as happy as ever, and all my thinning worries have almost disappeared. :)

The pictures you initially posted were your lobes at 0g...please tell me you didn't just tape from 0g to 7/16"...

Yowza...hopefully the first post was a typo and should have said 00g?

I will say that the lobes look good, though...

Edit:  I just looked at the original post and pictuers, and the hole DOES look a hell of a lot smaller than it is now...eek!

Yup, I just realized I totally failed with wording, my bad. |:

Well anyways, does the placement still look alright? I think it does.. ever since I stretched up to 7/16" my lobes have been happy as ever, and I've been really happy about the way they look.

Opinions from others will always help me, though. :)

    xfeedyourshamex:
Please answer every question you can, and provide reasons as to why you feel that way. I've been getting really paranoid about placement/lobe size issues lately, and I've been wondering if it's a valid concern.

    you are stretching too fast...

the answers to your other concerns/questions can be determined by you without trying to ask us - especially if youd actually taken the advice of the very-first-response that you ever received when you came onto these boards...

      http://forums.bodyartforms.com/forums/p/26380/310499.aspx

you were at 6-7mm with a damaged lobe at the beginning of september (2g-0g stretch).  it has been all of 2 months and youve just informed us that youre at 11mm.  guess what - your lobes are never going to heal at the rate you keep pushing them...  pick a size that is reasonable for a temporary goal and stop-trying-to-stretch...  once your lobes have fully-healed (remember that 6-mo first-response you got?), then take a look at things and decide from there...  of course, im sure that -your- goal is to get the biggest-holes in your ears before the school-year is ended, or something like that...  please try to take it easy...

your ears/lobes and the placements and so on - are not something that can be changed in 2 months...  it took you at least a few years to grow the body that you currently have - give yourself time to adjust it at a reasonable pace...  gl, h.

    Allow me to clarify..

A friend of mine and I used to share this account, that post was made by a different person (not me!), who has horribly stretched lobes.

I don't stretch until my body tells me to do so, and if it hurts, I go back down to the size I was at, wait a while, and go back up.

This account is no longer shared, and hasn't been for a while. Sorry for the confusion..

    11mm lobes. :)

Don't worry about it, I just wanted to let people know that I was someone who actually cared for their lobes; not the opposite.

Anyways.. opinions? Does making it to 1" seem plausible?

I think it's very likely that you can do it if you continue to take care of your ears and stretch very slowly. It may even require some downsizing at some point to thicken your lobes if they thin out. In terms of placement I think it looks fine, but if you have any concerns you could always consider getting scalpeled, which will help you reach your goal of 1" too.
