    Jewelry in stretched holes

     Hi guys!

Soon, I'm planning on my first stretch, up from my current well-healed 10g lobes to an 8g, and my target size is 6g. I know I'll have to wait a few months between 8g and 6g, and I need stationary jewelry to heal around (like plugs or captives). What I'm curious about is, do I leave the stationary jewelry in there the whole 2 mos (since I'm trying to get to 6g and then I'll stay put there for a while)  or can I change it out after the initial healing process is over (4-6 weeks)?

     Thanks!

If everything goes well, you can change your jewelry after a few weeks!

Are you thinking of putting the same gauge of jewelry in or are you wanting to put older smaller gauge jewelry in?

Same gauge (8g). I figured I like danglies better and I adore my 10g steel tribal swan spirals (they're my everyday wear). I didn't know if it was safe to change out to heavy danglies like the swans in the same gauge after the initial 4-week healing on the CBRs, and I didn't want to buy 'em in 8g if it wasn't safe to change a new stretch's jewelry for 2 mos! But good to hear I can switch to the 8g danglies after the initial healing period. I'll be happier with danglies in for 2mos than I will with plain ol' cbrs. :D

You could always wear smaller jewelry through earskins.  I do it all the time!  I don't know if 10g will fit into 8g, though.  I've never tried jewelry that was only one size smaller.

Also, if they're really heavy, you may wanna wait just a little longer to wear them.  Just try them out for a short period of time at first to see how they feel.  Anytime I wear heavy hangies out of the house, I always bring a pair of plugs with me, just in case they get too heavy for me.  Just a suggestion. Wink

Well, that's why my target size is 6g, so I can wear all my 10g stuff through earskins or an eyelet. But I know I'll be a lot more patient waiting the 2mo period between 8g and 6g if I can wear my favorite pair of steel danglies in 8g instead of being stuck with boring ol' CBRs the whole time. :D
