Definitely don't with The Dresden Files, setting your hopes high that is. They change certain things in, some necessary some not so much. Both are good but the books are a good deal better.
Hell's bells how did I miss this thread popping back up! :P Anyway, what book does the show go up to? I'm reading the fourth book now and I don't want to see any spoilers. I saw the first episode and thought it was pretty good considering it is a tv adaptation. I started watching the second show and saw nothing familiar so I stopped just in case it was based on a book I hadn't read yet.
As far as the Harris books, I actually liked them. They are fun and trashy, except for the last one which was much less bubbly to put it mildly. I can barely watch the show now lol. I try my best to let the books go when I watch it, but come on in some parts the only thing the books have in common with the show are the character's names. Like they totally took the maenad thing and ran with it! I'm so glad that part is over.
Has anyone read the Lily Bard series Harris wrote? She did a cameo in one of the Sookie books so I started reading them after I was done and in Sookie withdrawal. I only read two and they seem pretty dry. The main character is a bit cold and boring for my tastes. I was just wondering if it starts to pick up any or if I should just give up on the series.

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination. [:-goldfish]
