    Fresh ears & a question.

    Hello, everyone.

I haven't posted anything on here in a long time. But back when I did, I mostly asked about getting my ears pierced, and was researching stretching, etc. I had originally planned on being pierced a while ago, but I decided to spend extra time gathering information and deciding how I actually felt about this potentially permanent modification. I just didn't want to rush into things.

Anyway, I just got both of my lobes pierced at 10g about three weeks ago. On my left one, I have a very small bump several mm below my actual piercing. It did not show up until at least a week and a half after I was initially pierced, and is not actually in contact with the hole. I do occasionally just get little bumps in my ears that go away after about a week. It feels the same as one of those, but I wanted to approach this with caution anyway... So is this something I should be concerned about? It has gone down in size significantly since it first appeared. Thanks!

Just leave it alone for now, and if you are worried about it have your piercer take a look at it.

    Im just that awesome!

It sound like an ear cyst, many people get them from time to time. If it enlarges or becomes extremely painful, visit your doctor to rule out infection of the new piercing.

    Congratulations on the new piercings!

What kind of jewelry are you currently wearing in your new piercings?

    Captive rings.

Even today, the bump has gone down more, and is no longer painful. I think it was just an ear cyst, but I am going to keep an eye on it for a couple days until it's completely gone. Thanks.

I have cysts in my ears as well that sometimes seem to act up; if you've had them in the past then I'd say it's quite likely that's what it is. It could also be a small pimple that formed and is now in the process of going away. Just continue to monitor it, and if anything seems a bit off about it (if it grows larger, secretes pus, etc) I'd hit up a qualified piercer or a doctor.
