I think I tore my lobes?

So I was going from an 8 to a 6.
I feel stuuupid.  I only waited like 2 weeks.

My friend had told me if I tear my lobes, I could get "cat butt."
And I took out my new cresent tapers(which I put in last night), and I found blood.  And my ear lobe looked like a cat butt. -.-
I don't want this to be permenant!  So I put back in my 8 plugs.  I figured leave em in, clean em like 53 times a day, and they should heal?
Or what can I do to keep my lobe from scarring or looking like this forever?
    Help me please!

If you post some pictures, we could tell you if it's cat butt.

First, it's good that you downsized. You may need to downsize one more size just to be safe.

Second, you should never use crescents to stretch.

Stop washing your ears so much. Go get some sea salt from your local grocer and mix 1/4th ts in 8 oz of warm water. Soak your lobes twice a day for several minutes each. Rinse.

Order some Emu Oil. When your ears aren't crusty anymore, start massaging with that stuff to break up scar tissue.

You shouldn't stretch again for six months.

This was a little setback, but hopefully you learned from your mistakes.

Take out your jewelry completely, and do everything else heathdawg mentions above. Yes, you might end up back at a 20g and have to start stretching from there, but it'll give your lobes the best chance of healing and looking normal.

By washing, I ment sea salt soaks.
I'll just start over.  It's no big deal.
And I'll order some of that oil.

    Thank you for your help!

I don't know about you, but my lobes are a pretty big deal to me.  Just go slow, be patient, and don't use crescents anymore! :-D  Good luck!!  Keep us posted!

What's the deal with crescents?  Why can't I use them?

Re: I think I tore my lobes?

They're an uneven surface so if it shifts it can cause mroe stress on your lobes by shifting between sizes... Also if you're using it as a taper, they are far to steep from the smallest to the largest point... So overall its more stress on a fresh stretch than you should even consider putting your lobes through...

    Im just that awesome!

Yeah, tapers make for a smoother transition when you're putting your plugs in because it ends with the size that your plugs are. (Does that make sense?)  Crescents are small and sharp on the ends, and big in the middle.  So you get up to the middle, then go back down to the end...then it's hard to get a plug in.  You should really only wear single flares in healing stretched anyway.  Anything hanging from your ear, like a crescent does, can catch on things, etc...

To clarify, tapers should NOT be worn as jewelry. After tapering ears you should immediately put in a single or no flare plug that is stainless steel/titanium or glass (no acrylic or silicone!),

Re: I think I tore my lobes?

I def have cat butt going on because I didn't stretch properly.  It's great you're doing it the right way and asking questions now instead of dealing with problems later.

    I'm sure you're exaggerating(sp?) but please don't clean them 53 times a day lol
