    Tattoos related to philosophy

So at the end of this month i'm going in to get my first tattoo as a birthday present to myself. Anyways, Ive been racking my brain to figure out exactly what to get. Theres only one picture that really works in my head, but after one google search its more then apparent that its not a very original tattoo. So im hoping maybe someone here can help me work out at least a simple idea for an image, im open to all different thing (words, a picture, etc).

Basically im looking to get something related to Aristophane's speech from plato's symposium. (for those who havent read it : http://www.anselm.edu/homepage/dbanach/sym.htm )   or for those who have seen the movie Hedwig and the Angry inch, think the lyrics from the song "the origin of love"

I have no specific size (meaning any ideas are awesome wether its a sleeve or something small) but if it matters its going to be placed on my arm (wrists if I choose to do words or a small image)

also show me your philosophy or greek related tattoos :]

Philosophy is going to be my major, but i'm not quite there yet. Something that has alot of meaning, can be short yet potent. For me, something that made me stop and think things over was Carpe Diem, but then again that is a little too well know. Then something else you have probably seen all around you is Semper Fidelis which is latin for always faithful, used by our marine core. ( if all fails i'm a marine ) Regardless would these messages be something along the lines you are looking for?

The fonts and styles for it are endless, In the end its all up to you. I understand you dont want something thats very common, i woudlnt either =/, but hey i hope this helped at least a little bit, if there is anything else i could do just let me know.

Any tattoo you choose to get will not be 'original', particularly if you're asking other people to be 'original' for you in this case. Go for what makes you happy and wear it proudly. While not everyone follow this credo, I think it would be best for you to choose a sampling that is especially dear to you for this will be on your skin for the rest of your days.

First off, kudos on knowing Hedwig and the Angry inch. Epic and fantastic movie. =D

Second,I would do something with Zeus and/or whatever deity you wish doing some sort of symbolic splitting of the two halves of humans.

My favorite and first tattoo is definitely a personal maxim, however it's from Shakespeare "All's Well That Ends Well"

It reads just like my siggy..."Love All Trust A Few Do Wrong To No One"

"Love all, trust a few,do wrong to no one."
    -William Shakespeare

My first tattoo is philosophical!  it's a quotation from Nietzsche:

(oops - linking to BME failed me... here it is)
