Ok so I searched in the forums for anything on using wood cresents for septum peircings, whether its the fact that I've been up almost two straight days
or there is no info I couldn't find any
. I am currently at a 16g and am looking at stretching to 12g possibly 10g waaay in the future, like years, but I wanted to get a jump start on gathering as much info as I could now. I love the way Bloodwood and Pink Ivory look and would like to have a custom septum cresent made using either of them.
So my questions are:
1) I know you can use organics in healed piercings, so why do most people not use wood in there septum?
2) Due to the fact that the wood could be more porous would it be a good idea to use wood in the first place?
(referring to the fact that while mucus might come off stone, bone, quill, and horn easier would the grain of the wood trap the mucus and other such horrible things like splinters on the inside of your septum piercing
?)
3) What is the smallest size I could get using either the Bloodwood and Pink Ivory?
(I've noticed theres very few items under 12g in organics that arent hagies.)
4) Is wood jewlery treated in any way, like being pressurized to get a smoother effect in the outcome?
(i know this treatment is done to many types of other wood to make them water proof or more dense and i was just curious)
If anyone could point me in the direction of someone who could make custom ordered organic pieces, I'd greatly appreciate it.
p.s. sorry for such a long post, im just really curious
