Hi everyone; I'm at 4g right now and wondering if it'd be possible for me to go to 2g. I have very low placement on my left lobe, and it hasn't been a problem yet and I haven't seen any thinning, but I'm always looking for a second opinion. I don't want to have my lobes scalpelled, so if 4g is all I can do that's fine with me. Like most of you, though, I'm always wanting to go bigger, lmao. I know for sure that my lobes have a stopping point though, as the left hole is quite low on my lobe. :( I've posted about this before when I was at a much smaller gauge, but figured I'd get a re-evaluation at this size.

if you plan to go bigger than a 2g I would scalpel. The left lobe is pierced hella low...

 If I were you i would repierce or scalpel. Actually I got them repierced, because I had low placement from a hairdresser. Why settle for less? It's your decision though. If you're absolutely positive you will only go to 2g, and you're comfortable with the way it looks, you don't need to.

And you can get them pierced at bigger gauges.

 I would love to get them repierced, but in my teenage years I didn't wear jewelry in my lobes for yearrrsss and they never closed, or even got close to closing. :( So that's not really an option. And I really don't want to scalpel...

 If 4 or 2 is as big as I can go I'm fine with that.

Even if they only shrink a couple sizes I'm fairly certain you could get them repeirced

 I don't really know how piercing over the hole will help too much, because even when it's closed up as much as it can be, it's still really low. Wouldn't they have to pierce through that, and therefore the hole would still be low?

 i think what they're saying, is to just leave that hole, and get an entirely new one pierced above it, with which to stretch. chances are, it could close almost all the way, but best case scanario, it won't be visible under the lobe. 

as in, forget you had the low hole, get a new one. :]

i have low holes on both of my ears [ not as low as your left one ] but i really wish i had gotten better placement now. you're at a small enough guage that you could just redo that left one. :]

your right one looks fine to me. but hell, i know how it is living with two different sized lobe holes. 

 I had an 8g hole and repiercedwith a 8g needle above it. It hasn't caused any problems, and the retired hole has shrunk to almost nothing, even though it hasn't closed.

not much you can do with that besides settle for the size your at, repierce, or, change your mind on scalpelling. but you seem ok with 4G for now, so maybe just leave it :)

im gunna say you can go to a 2G because its only a couple millameters bigger. but probably no bigger than that, my ears looked close to that when i was at 5/8 and im at 7/8 now and could probably go to an 1", just take it slow if your ears start to get translucent, stop what your doing. use lots of shea butter and emu oil, and if youll patient enough. once your stretch your ears up a size put smaller earrings back in this will help make your lobes thicker and promote larger stretching possibilities in the future.
