So I've read this forum for a while and have never made an account. But I really feel like I need help now and so I'm asking for some advice:

My ears are currently at an 8ga. They've been there for about 2 and a half months, and were doing just fine. Currently I have single flare stainless plugs in. All my previous stretching had been done with captive beads rings. I tried to stretch to a 6ga about 5 days ago and there was just no luck. All my other stretches had went just fine. I tried using everything on the taper, satin and naked oil. Both were not working. My ears literally felt like there was no give in them at all and finally after trying to push the taper through both ears I just gave up and put my 8ga plugs back in my very sore ears. Why will my ears not stretch now? Could it be because before I had the captives weighing my ears down some? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and sorry I wrote a novel on here explaining everything lol.

You simply need to give your ears more time.

If you don't already, you should consider doing daily oil massages on your lobes. 

8g-6g can be a very hard stretch. Give your ears more time (maybe another month or two) and see if you can stretch then. Also you can try the taping method. You can use bondage or teflon tape. Bondage tape is thicker so you don't want to use too many wraps. Make sure that if you use the taping method that you use plenty of oil on the tape and your lobes

I second the daily oil massages. It might be in your best interest if you could see if you could get a half size of sorts. I know IS metal is sized oddly, so maybe see if Myriah can find something close to ~7g
