    Lobes

ok so this is my problem. My lobes both stick out like the skin sticks out of the back a little bit. im currently at 1 inch with my lobes and i feel that the skin hanging is getting more severe. I've been stretching for 5 years now and i fianlyl reached one inch.

i stay within the 4 month or longer range before even attempting to tape up. i massage my lobes 2 times a day with emu oil and vitamen E oil.  i've always taken care of my lobes and i have only had one accident which is immediately downsized and stayed naked for a few months resulting in me going from 3/4 to 4 guage.after 2 months of my ears gapping i finally got back to 3/4

anyways back to my problem. i've never rushed my ears or hurt them except once and it was only my left ear. but i've always gone slow and taken the stretching easy allowing plenty of time for collagen to build up.

my ears are quite thick from leaving them out over night. but the skin hangs off the back. when i insert my plugs from the front the skin hangs out the back and when i remove them its goes away in 5 minutes. when i try to insert them from the back my plugs bulges out from the front. and when they are in my ear soetimes they concave inside a little bit resultign in my ears to push out to the side basically my earing looks almost level with ym skin in the ar like none of it stick out,

ive been to plenty of tattoo shops and they al lsay its a blowout. Obviously it is if skin is hanging but why do i have it? one piercer said its natural its just from the skin beign stretched out. nothing i did wrong. another said i've fucked up my lobes. but how? ive taken everything so slow. and i baby the fuck out of my ears. how could i have it? currently i am leaving them named and downsizing to 3/4 hoping that rids my problem. but if it doesn't how can i stop my skin from hanging?

    and solutions

    Re: Lobes

You can have the blowouts surgically removed if downsizing doesn't work. If you have had the blowouts for a long time (like, letting the lobes heal with the damage and continuing stretching without addressing the problem) then you have less of a chance of them re-absorbing.

When you downsized to 4g from 3/4" what happened there to make you downsize? It doesnt sound like you waited long enough between stretches on your way back to 3/4" after that. At what size did you get the blowouts?

    Re: Lobes

well what happened was i was taping from 5/8 to 3/4 and i comapred the taped plugs with the silicone and i had more tape on my plug that i did with the silicone and its lip. so i figured ehh why not see if it will go in. i tried to put the islicone in and my ear barely passed the lip it wasnt like putting in a flare where is slide in so i just pusshed a little and its slid right in i felt nothing though i was at a perfect 3/4 next morning i got up my whole ear was completely swollen and hurt like a bitch. idk what i did i checked my ear and i had no cuts or anything just a perfectly round hole. but it was swollen and hurt ot touch myabe the silicone with possessed or someting idk.

i immediately removed it let it downsize and left my ear naked for 2 weeks or so.

    my ears got super tiny

i began to start fro ma 4 guage which was all i could fit

put it in 2 days later my ears gapped and the plug fell out i went to a 0 and it went in no problems no force about 3 days later my ears had space again i went to 7/16. that same exact day i had space again i went to 1/2 inch 5 days later i had space again i went to 9/16
i had 9/16 not even a whole day and my ear gapped again and my earing kept falling out i put in a 5/8 and it went in no problem. about a week later my ear got space again but not  enough for a 3/4 so i left it alone and a few weeks late i started taping to fill the gap and after that my ear gapped againand i was able to slide a 3/4 flare in no problem

    Re: Lobes

Silicone is only recommended for healed piercings :( I had a bad reaction to it -years upon years- ago at about 1/2" and had to go back to a 14g or so. I let them heal for about 2 years I believe before I started stretching again.

A lot of folks feel like you should wait the full recommended times between stretches after downsizing (you can find a table here) and that isn't a horrible idea at all. That -could- have been where the blowouts happened, or it could have been the silicone, or some other thing we aren't factoring in here.

You don't know at what size they appeared, or how long you have had them now?

well i believe they appeared when i got to 3/4

and got worse as i got to 1 inch

so i wanan get it removed

and if surgery is my only option then what could be the possibility or problem if i keep stretching

    other than it getting worse?

All of those can happen. Pics will help, but its not going to get us to tell you that you dont have a problem if there is one...

    Re: Lobes

From what I can tell from those pics that's not the worst ever, but downsizing is a great idea.

    Re: Lobes

well what ive noticed is that i can take the back of my ear and kinda pull out and try and wrap in in the fron from the bbottom so is that considered a blowout since my skin goes back in my ear after i tqke my plug out

wouldnt a blownout lobe stay stuck out al lthe time?

im going from 1 inch to 3/4 is that a decent downsize 7mm
