    Reasons for removing a microdermal?

May I ask why so many of you have had/are having your microdermals removed? I'm interested in having one done, but this is giving me pause/making me wonder what I'm unaware of. Thanks --

Ah, sorry about that. Thanks so much for the link; my body's crappy healing tendencies would probably be a major impediment.

I took mine out because I caught it on a door and ripped it about 75% out.

Both of mine were fine for the first two months.  From two months on till I got them taken out, they were always red and leaky so I took got them removed because they never healed.

    Current piercings: 2x ½ in; lobes, 2x 6ga lobes, 14ga nostril, 1ga septum, 14ga lip, 16ga philtrum.

The microdermals behind my ears rejected. Well, one of them did, and I removed the otherone because I'm a whore for symmetry. haha. I have 3 on my throat now, and I can pretty much guarantee that they're going to be removed within the next 6 months. I'm really sad about it, but the fact is that they're very very slowly moving out on their own. My throat area just moves too much for them to completely settle, despite how well healed they are.

i was having severe migration on one microdermal of a pair, so i had them both removed.

and im going to have my second pair removed because my piercer hit a vein on one, it sunk the next day, but flattened out after putting some arnica montana (is that what its called) to reduce swelling.  but has started giving me issues out of nowhere.  and these issues have been going on off and on for 2 months so...

they are just bitchy to me i guess.

I just came by to kill you, nobody was home...

I'm unclear about what's necessary for the jewelry to settle; is it better to have a place with bone more immediately underneath than say, the fleshy part between the humerus?

i have a feeling i will be removing my wrist microdermal really soon

it was a practice one done on me by my piercer to begin with, so i think the rise on it was .5mm longer than necessary. and it has constantly been getting irritated, the few times it has been has mainly been from a quick removal of my backpakc, and the strap snagggin it. and just very recently the worst snag of all occurred when i was gettin something out from the bottom rack of the dishwasher, adn the top of my wrist just snagged on the top rack, it was painful to the point where it hought it ripped out. it is no longer pussing now. but it is purpleish from all the scar tissue and such. friends always ask me if its infected when i have the end removed.

    i has: 15mm septum, retired 5/8" lobes, 00g second holes for a year till 07/10 :'( , 3.25 hours of tattoo work(stomach/inner lip), 4g prince albert, 10g horizontal nipples.
