    yet another septum issue...

about 10 years ago i had it pierced. i had to hide it and it healed crooked. it was back a bit, which i really liked, but everyone here wantas to pierce it a bit forward. just had it redone and the guy said the other one had done it wrong. i asked him why it hadnt hurt, if the guy hadnt done it in the sweet spot, and he said hed missed nerves, which is nonsense, as idve felt it if hed done it through the gristle. so, im wondering, has evereyone pierced it in the wrong place, ahead of the sweet spot, or is mine just a bit large, and i could have it pierced at a decent gauge, provided i could find a piercer in tampa who didnt suck? i have a crooked nose, but i think itd look fine with the right jewellery in it. thank you.

I myself don't have a septum,  but I know a lot of people who have that. And it seems like they are all pierced further forward, through the cartilage.

retainers look good on a lot of people.

Septum piercings DO NOT go through cartilage. They go through the soft area of flesh that is your nasal septum, called the "sweet spot."  Some people do have larger sweet spots, and their piercings can be further back. If you don't want it as far forward as they're trying to place it, ask them to just put it where the previous hole was. As long as it doesn't go through cartilage, and it's just a matter of aesthetics, any reasonable piercer should agree if it's what you really want.

septums do not go through the cartliage

    i have mine done

like he said its through the sweet spot

in b/t the cartliage in your nose

i have a bigger sweet spot so mine wasnt that far forward

as long as you dont get the cartliage pierced i dont see why he

couldnt pierce it farther back as long as its going through

    that spot
