I ride the bus or walk. Or beg for rides when I'm not feeling like dealing with the cold (which is sparingly). I was never offered help to get a car and I never bothered saving for one, and I don't mind too much. Big Smile

I'm (sadly) going to be moving from Milwaukee to a small town in IL for a few years for school and le girlfriend <3. This mean, wah wah waaaah, I'll have to start driving. I dunno why, but I actually enjoy Milwaukee Public Transit and meeting weird people on the bus.

We both want to move to Chicago in a few years...and uh...I couldn't imagine actually talking to anyone on a bus or train. Scary...'d probably get punched in the face for fear of being a weirdo since I usually look a bit (a lot) scrubby during the day. I'm not a day person in the least. She moved here after living in both Chicago and small towns in IL and got weirded out at how talkative people are with strangers on the bus here. I love it.

lol, people actually tend to be rather nice on the CTA trains, not so much the buses. It's the security and the drivers that are complete dickheads.

Every time I go to Chicago, I find a safe place to park my car on the outskirts, buy a CTA visitors pass, and take the train everywhere. I've never had any problems; I love it.
