wearing dangling or spirals through silicone eyelets?

i have both of my ears gauged to 7/8 of an inch. i plan to go to 1 inch eventually. my question is i see how many people with bigger sizes wear dangling earrings through there silicone plugs . i want some of the weird, curvy ones i've seen many have. can i do this and what size would i ned to go through my plugs? i measured and the hole is 5/8 of an inch in my 7/8 plug. please any suggestions would be great. also please suggest the ones you wear and tell me where you purchased them.

anything smaller than the hole in the middle of your eyelets will fit. Most of the hanging things you see people wearing through their tunnels you can get on BAF.

Hanging designs and spirals won't stay in very well. Generally cbrs are your best bet to acheive that look.

UM... I can wear my 2g GG spirals in both earskins and eyelets in my 9/16" holes just fine... Its a matter of placing them so they wont come out... and checking them periodically to make sure they stay in. Also if shes looking for something that will fit perfectly in her eyelets there wont be much wiggle room for them to even try to fall out...

UM... she didn't sound like she wanted snugly fitting pieces, and I don't consider the amount of checking necessary to keep smaller pieces in worth it. That's really spectacular that you do.

No.. most likely not.  I have a pair of those and they're hard enough to put on (with my chubby lobes).  The space between isn't that wide and since it's glass, there's no give & take.  Maybe a GG cbr?  That would look nice too!

I am not sure if you really wanted to wear them through the plug or not, but gorilla glass makes those barbs in 7/8". BAF could probably order them for you.

The barbs are kind of a pain on their own, as stated already. However most of the hanging styles on BAFs main page would work, its really all about what you like!

Re: wearing dangling or spirals through silicone eyelets?

When I look for dangling/hanging designs to wear through my eyelets, I usually look for something that has a large enough of a diameter to fit through and around the eyelets and the opening area. If the opening area is too small, it will not fit in, however there are some jewelry that you can carefully bend to to open it a bit and put it through the eyelets and then carefully bend it back in place to close it.I also look at the shape and where most of the weight is on the dangling/hanging jewelry. If it looks pretty balanced, chances are it will stay in place without any problems. I've just started looking around for hanging designs lately to wear in my lobes (they're currently 7/8" right now) and those are the key points I am using myself personally to find pieces that will work out for me, even when I move back up to 1". Hope this helps :)

Re: wearing dangling or spirals through silicone eyelets?

Lilitha, if you are using silicone eyelets (which is what was originally being discussed here) you shouldn't have to be bending your danglies at all. The silicone is soft enough that it will give against the jewelry and flex along any tight curves that a spiral piece might have. For this reason silicone is most ideal for wearing loose danglies in big holes, because the flexibility allows you to wear a piece with a tighter opening, so there is less chance that it will work it's way out. Also the silicone, especially in the OE style Kaos makes, has a certain degree of "stickiness" on the surface of the inner diameter, so it holds onto most jewelry pretty well.
