    Blowout?

Well, I have just recently started stretching my ears. I got them pierced at a 8g and then waited a month and a half or so before I decided to try to go to a 6g. I use a sea salt spray about 4 times a day.

I got the 6g tapers and a set of 6g metal tunnels, so I put the tapers in they went in with a little force, but nothing unbearable. I wasn't bleeding after I had done it, they hurt and swelled a little and they still are a little swollen and a little puss comes out every now and then. Well, after that I noticed I had a very tiny, short, string like piece of skin hanging out the back when I went to wash them after I had done it.

It's very small, thin, and only on one side. I could probably pull off the little "string" very easily if I wanted to, but I have a feeling that wouldn't be a good idea until I find out if it's a blowout. So, does that sound like a blowout or just a little piece of skin I am over thinking and worrying about? If it is should I downsize back to an 8g or just take them out all together?

um try waiting at least 6mon after piercing. in this case since it is a larger gauge I would have waited a year, but that is me. Downsize back to 8g at least and don't think of stretching for 6mon or longer. Use sea salt and soak your ears with the jewelry still in

    Re: Blowout?

The piercer I went to told me to wait 3 months before I could stretch. I had went into a couple other places just recently to see if my ear was healed enough to stretch, and they told me it was fine, they said it was healed enough, it had been about a month and a half. I usually heal really fast, and they told me not to worry since my ears were basically already at a 6g from all the natural stretching my ears had done by moving.

I just went and cleaned them again and I coaxed the little piece back into my ear, and now I can't see it, I'm hoping it will reabsorb into the skin in there. So, hopefully me keeping up with my sea salt soaks and cleaning will make it reabsorb. Even if it doesn't completely I can always get that little piece taken care of by a doctor or whoever before I stretch again, since it is such a small little string.

But yeah, I'm not thinking of stretching again until it's fully healed. I would rather be patient then completely fuck my ears up for good.

    Re: Blowout?

I would definitley downsize back to 8g. The general consensus is 6mon before stretching a new lobe piercing. oh and cut the soaks down to 2-3 per day. 4 is way too many

    Re: Blowout?

I already did, that's when the skin went back up, while I was washing it. I'm going to wait quite a while till I am sure before I go back to a 6g. Also, it's not a soak, it's more of a spray thing, so it's not as much as you would think, just a mist on the front and back each time.

yeah I know what it is. I use it on my clavical piercings. I only do 3 spays per day. I would also consider doing an actual soak on piercings that you can

    Re: Blowout?

I went and got it checked out. They said it should be fine if I don't mess with it for quite a few months, which I wasn't planning on doing anything for some months anyway.

    Thanks for the advice/info, though.

    Re: Blowout?

I was going slow compared to most people I have heard of or I'm friends with. So, I wasn't really in a hurry, I was just misinformed by some piercers, that told me I could go ahead and stretch. It was only my first stretch, though, it's not like I got it pierced then a week later stretched, then two weeks later stretched and whanot. I allowed time for it to heal a bit, took care of it how I was told, and then went to a couple piercers for their advice on whether I should stretch at the time, which they said it was fine.

I have decided to wait months before stretching again, which doesn't really seem hurried to me, either way I am still in the process of learning.

    Re: Blowout?

Yeah, with some antibacterial soap and water. I don't know if that was a bad idea or not, but I have heard of people doing it on quite a few sites.
