    microdermal

so i have offered my piercer to be his guinea pig for a microdermal, since he is learning how to do them
i suggested placements on my head, and he suggested other places

and wat other places would be a good spot for them? i noticed on bme a majority of the microdermals are cleavage ones, and seeing as im a guy, i dont got anyand i saw a picture and like that placement, but how exactly will it heal on top of hair roots? http://www.bmezine.com/pocket/A80424/high/npkl-by-iestyn-samppa.jpg

    Re: microdermal

i had questions! BAF deleted them!

my questions were if some places were more risky than others

and if microdermal healing could be affected by hair roots

edit: it deleted like half my post!

i was also asking about for suggestions on non feminine placements, most of the ones i  haveseen on bme are cleavage ones

the picture i linked above was a spot i was considering

I doubt BAF deleted your questions.

Yes some places are more risky than others. Some places are harder to do than others. I would recommend against doing them above your hairline. Hair can affect healing.

    Re: microdermal

I just checked your post, and your entire original post is still there, but I find that anything I type after a < br > tag doesn't appear on these boards, which is why I just use a < p > tag, so you may just want to go back and change that.

I was just looking through those galleries yesterday, and I felt that many of them were on backs, hips, and faces, any of which I think are perfectly unisex and acceptable. One of my friends almost got them on his collarbones, which I think would have looked fantastic.

My microdermal is close to my jawbone, and my piercer placed it so that it would be in the fleshiest part of that area. I feel (although I am no expert) that having something hard like bone underneath it would hinder more than help to cushion it from any blows.

    Re: microdermal

im kinda having difficulty deciding exactly where i want them.

i understand that they are permanent piercings

lol i havnt got any sleep for the past 2 days, cause i kept thinking about where i want it

the dermals past the headline seem like a good idea, i can hide them when i need to and show em when i want. but jagerick said it was a bad idea, so now im not sure where, i guess ill just go in again and have another chat with my piercer

    microdermals mimicing sub-clavs look cool.

you will need to have them done in a "fleshey" area with minimal muscle underneath and minimum skin movement. Also avoid them in highly "vascular" areas due to bleeding. Then they will heal better.

They will need to be placed wher you can see and reach them. (sounds obvious, but its not to all ).

and personally id avoid having them on your chest 2. (it will affect life saving procedures, should you ever need them).

The spikes in the photo you posted are more likely transdermals than microdermals. not sure whether you were referencing them or the marks above the person's eyebrows in the photo.

I think that some good, more 'unisex' placements for microdermals are along the forearms, above/below collarbones, back of the neck, lower back... that's all i can think of right now.

Is your artist not keen on doing them on the face? I know if I was doing a microdermal for the first time I probably wouldn't feel comfortable doing it on someones face. =)

    Re: microdermal

If you're being the guinea pig for your piercers first microdermals i'd suggest getting them somewhere that is easily visable by you so you can keep a close eye on them and somewhere that you won't bash too much. I'd suggest either the chest area or forearm, near the inner elbow. Microdermals are far from permanant piercings, i've had 3, 2 sunk and had to be removed and one completely rejected.
