    DIY Helix piercing?

    Locked Reply Contact

so, I want to get my right Helix pierced but at the moment I'm a little low on cash.  I'm not planning to stretch the piercing to anything larger than a 16g (It'll probably be pierced at that gauge).  I've got a friend who's got a piercing needle and he's pierced lobes before (though lobes are pretty simple.)  He's pierced carelessly in the past, but I'm going to make sure he does it the RIGHT way if he pierces me.  Although, I've heard from people who have Helix's that a Helix piercing can be dangerous if not done professionally.  I've heard someone say that there's a possibility of hitting and injuring nerves if you don't do it right?  Is that true?  What do you guys say to a DIY helix piercing? I know that cartilage is different to pierce than the skin on lobes and more difficult to pierce and takes longer to heal.

    any input is greatly appreciated!

Well first of all, this topic is going to be locked, DIY piercing is not allowed to be discussed here. But, save up the money until you can get it done professionally, all DIY piercings are unsafe when you aren't a professional, and honestly even then I'd have someone else do it.

A piercings only going to cost you like forty bucks just save up until you can afford to get it done right.

DIY discussion is not allowed in these forums so you're not going to get help here, sorry.

Edit- Dani beat me to it :P

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination. [:-goldfish]

Okay first off, yeah, you aren't supposed to talk about any kind of DIY here.

Secondly, if he has done improper piercings and done them carelessly before alone would make me not want to get pierced by your friend. If you go to a professional and see that they've done crappy and careless piercings before, you wouldn't go to them.. Probably another good reason not to get this DIY.

Third, Getting any piercing can be dangerous if not done correctly. Infections, poor placement, nerves, etc.

My vote is for a no.

    Edit: that looks better.
