(14G) ok so its been 4 weeks since ive had my septum pierced and i noticed on the second week that hypertrophic scarring started, i have it on both sides but the right side is minimal scarring compared to the left side of my septum and the past week and a half i had my septum flipped up not flipping it down so yesterday after doing a seasalt soak cleaning off all the crusties i decided to flip it down and when i flipped it down (anatometal niobium retainer)  i felt my retainer squeezing the little bump like putting pressure but i heard pressure is what helps make them go down but it was hurting a bit but i left it like that to check my septum out. ANYWAYS i looked on the top part of the septum and there was no scarring at all and i didnt even know i thought i had a full ring because i had my retainer flipped up the whole time until i brought it down but there is only scarring on the bottom part of the hole

 do you think the cause could be because of the anatometal niobium jewelry considering that it is slightly heavier than most other metals? do you think i could be allergic to it? or is it just me i did kind of mess with it for a bit in the first week though flipping it up and down a lot everyday hiding from parents and then when i go out flipping it down over and over again. but that was for the first week.

If I recall correctly, you removed your jewelry several times only days after getting it pierced. That'll do it.  Plus, you shouldn't being flipping it, touching it, moving it AT ALL for at least 6 weeks after getting it pierced. So, I'd guess that's what did it.

 still have the hypetrophic scarring on my septum... went away with pressure from my retainer squeezing it now it came back again. wont go away or decrease.. i left it alone for weeks.

 is there any medications or anything i can do?
