    Industrial question

I got an industrial three days ago and it was done with two CBRs. When the woman who pierced me was telling me the aftercare she told me to go to a piercer in 3 months and get it changed to the barbell, but when I was speaking with another woman who worked in the shop she told me to get it changed in 2 months. Does anyone know when the correct time to get it changed would be?

Also, for the aftercare I was told to use bactine twice a day, but seeing how it's not recomended would just sea salt soaks be good for healing and would the holistic piercing swabs be alright to use on it as well?

Thanks to whoever can answer these questions!

6g and 16g lobes, 16g helix and industrial.

    Re: Industrial question

I'd just use sea salt soaks, and I'd wait at least 5-6 months. Industrials are fussy

    Yup, just SSS.

And industrials get to be soooo angry. Do not get the rings changed out until they are healed! Same rule applies to any piercing - unless the initial jewelry is causing problems.

    Re: Industrial question

Do *not* change it too soon. And by too soon, I mean anytime before 6 months (I'm going to wit closer to a year). Industrials can be a royal pita. I have one that I got done almost 3 months ago and it's giving me problems again. Even with doing sss and trying to baby it, it still acts up.

One thing that I found helps is sleeping with a rolled up towel. I still do it to keep from sleeping directly on it.

I changed mine after 2 months; My piercer had told me 6 weeks was ok. I did it in March and it's still giving me crusties. I don't know if I had had less problems if I hadn't change it, but I'm definately going to wait before I change it again. I really think you should wait more than 2-3 months.

I'm no expert, but I think waiting at the very least six month would be best. Eight months sounds like a good idea to me. I'm basing this off of when I would have felt comfortable changing mine (I've had it for a year but haven't yet). There's no point in risking it.

    Re: Industrial question

I got an industrial about seven months ago and I had a barbell. It still crusts sometimes but everytime I use SSS it settles.
It still haven't healed yet, but it's starting to do that now.

I'd say stick with the SSS and don't change the jewelry unless the CBR's are giving you hard time.

    Re: Industrial question

Alright. Thanks everyone! I was thinking of keeping the CBRs in until march or april anyway since the barbell doesn't seem like the best thing to have in it while skiing.
