Current gauge care/ Preperation tips PICS

Quick history.... Stretched to a 2g in Jan... Made a big error in trying to go to a 0g in march... Way to soon... Thanks to those who helped me out with advice on these forums during that time. I had some bleeding etc so i downsized back to a 2g like a day after the 2-0g stretch.  Did alot of sea salt soaking for a few weeks after that too. I have never oiled though... I think its something i need to start.

Ok.... What i want to know is what type of preperation should i began doing to get my ears ready for the 0g stretch again? Granted... Im kinda planning to do this in septemeber.. I believe by that time ample healing time will have passed to allow for a second try, but we shall see when the time comes. I know some of you guys are going to tell me to tape.. But i dont know what it is,.. I worry about myself not doing that properly and evenly..

Im also looking for tips on daily oiling care etc. Ive heard just reg vit e oil from the supermarket is decent for care?

This is what my ears looks like currently freshly naked out of the shower.

Im just looking for advice and help because my friends are idiots and careless.... And most of the piercing placed i call i KNOW give me bad advice... For instance " Ya dude just wait a few weeks (refering to the 2g-0g stretch) and try again" .... Ummm no thank you.

Im willing to wait and do things right from now on. I want pretty lobes. Thank you BAF coomunity!

Just a quick question: what kind of jewelry are you wearing?

For a good while after the 0g stretch it was reg non flared steel plugs..for the last month and a half or so single flared glass plugs. They are very light.

Whether you tape, taper or deadstretch, I think oil massages will help make sure you are ready.

Jojoba and emu oil are my personal faves...

I am however no where near your gauge size so...

I only asked because it looked like there was an imprint around the hole from tight jewelry. The best thing you can do is massage daily to increase circulation and decrease scar tissue. You can use 100% vit e oil, jojoba oil, emu oil, or even olive oil in a pinch. My favorite is jojoba, which is high in vit e anyway, and you can pick it up at Whole Foods. Just take out your jewelry and rub the oil in using your thumb and forefinger; really work it in.

Going from 2g to 1g and then to 0g (1mm jumps) rather than straight from 2g to 0g (a 2mm jump) makes things much, much easier. BAF sells some very nice 1g glass plugs, check it out.

I understand the 1mm step is easier... But 1mm tapers are elusive... I mean i dont know..Maybe im wrong but just popping in jewelry to stretch isnt the best thing in the world?

It's still better than trying to jump 2mm at once. If you've been at 2g for a while, it shouldn't be too hard to slip 1g in - those plugs are rounded on the ends to make it easier. Alternately, you could try taping up to 1g.

With enough time (several months at least), healthy lobes, and plenty of lube, slipping in a 1g colorfront with it's gentle rounded end is much easier than you think.

I have to 2nd this statement.  Your ears look pretty healthy for having been hurt.  Massaging them will help make them a bit more elastic and healthier and more ready to stretch.  good luck!

You were wondering about how to stretch to 1g...

If your tape is very progressive, like not a "bump" to the next gauge, you can use it. You work your holes with oil massages, then you slid the taper like half in. When you feel it starts to stretch, stop there and wait like 30 minutes, then get it ou by the little side (off course) and put the 1g plud in! ^^
