so i was at the mall, and decided to stop in at hot topic to get some 3/4 tapers, and seeing there wasn't any on the shelf i asked if there was any back stock. they said no and the girl working there suggested I do what her friend did and buy Fimo and make tapers. I then replied "that's a terrible idea, Fimo is poisonous porous and as rough as sand paper" she then said use vaseline as lubricant.

this is coming from the girl who calls her self the "queen of gauges" to my girlfriend at school, who also brag about her boyfriend going to a half inch in three months.

my question what is the dumbest advice a hot topic employee has given you about stretching? 

 this could have just as well gone into any of the many other hot topic threads or the thread of all threads.

to stay on topic, I don't go into hot topic.  I'm high class.  I shop at Target.  ;)

yea she said she would not go past her zero that she down sized because its a fad that she was done with. and i tried to explained to her that she can down size by "tricking your ears" going up a size and then putting a size smaller then you were and she started telling me that was not true and "she knows everything about gauges"

now she works at hot topic and gives out bad advice lol

Dumbest? To stretch every couple days, and if you get a tear or blowout to put crushed up aspirin on it and stretch again in a few more days. This from the guy with 1/2" ears who said he got there in a month.

I do it for fun, to see what kind of idiotic shite they spout out.

I am guilty of this myself....I love it when they ask me what size my "gauges" are, I usually respond with "whatever size I need them to be to check my air pressure in my tires". Although the funniest exclamation happened to be when an employee at said store asked "Are you ears like 00000000g?" So very funny

Yesterday I went to a kiosk at the mall to get some new tunnels. This is the exchange I had with the worker.

Me: Do you guys have any 9/16 tapers? *he checks, they don't.*

Him: What size is that you're wearing? Half an inch?

Me: Yes. (I'd been using the tape method so it was only slightly above half an inch.)

Him: Then why get the taper? You can just shove them in. (referring to the 9/16 tunnels) You see, if you want to go to a half inch, you use a 7/16 taper then put in a half inch plug. For a 9/16, you would need a half inch taper. See what I mean? The taper's always a size smaller.

Oh the frustration I felt.

Well, not really. But it pains me that he's giving out that kind of advice...

A girl at Hot Topic told me that waiting two weeks between stretches was more than enough time.I asked if I could see her ears without the plugs in. She refused.

Then we got into an argument about whether or not tapers could be worn as jewelry.
