Well a long time ago when i was just a stupid kid i got a scarification (cutting) of a star on my arm from a older 'friend'.  It looks kinda shitty, its not very dark (but im not suprised because im really really white and they usually end up light) but the lines arnt even.  Instead of going through that whole game of getting it done over and over again, i'd rather just get it tattooed.  Would that be a problem?  Its not raised up very much,  I would THINK that any civilized tattoo artist would be capable, but i would like your suggestions, or expiriences, if any of you have had scars tattooed over. 

i havent had any scars tattooed over yet, but if the artist is competent they should be able to do it...

I have a tattoo bracelet around my left wrist and it goes over quite a few scars. One of was a fairly deep wound, and the scar runs just as deep. My tattoo artist didn't even react to the scarring.. so I think it just depends on the skill level of the artist.

 You can tattoo over scars. Going in with the attitude of figuring out if they are a "civilized" tattoo artists will not win points in a studio. Just for the record. :)

tattooing over scars is very common. some people tattoo over stretch marks which are basically scars when they are healed, my friend tattooed over the scars on his wrist. i think you should be able to do it no problem. 

 My best friend was attacked a few years and had a horrible scar on her leg from it. She got a tattoo over it, and the scar isn't noticible at all unless you are really looking. So I'd say yes.
