You can get your lobes punched, but the procedure depends upon a variety of factors (previous piercings, placement, thickness, scar tissue, etc). The size of punch and following taper will be highly dependent upon anatomy. Be sure to consult a highly qualified individual before considering a soft tissue punch as this is a permanent alteration.
The majority of piercers will pierce with needles up to ~ 4 gauge, although some may argue that a crescent shaped hole may take slightly longer to heal.
